How do you consider it a "major violation" when nothing but a public reprimand came from it?

NYCAuburn --- You listed 2 majors. Bama has 5 four of which are for football. one of which included 10 majors at one time.
I'm still trying to figure out which formula you used to get to 10...

Because it makes them feel better about having the most major violations in the SEC.

I still haven't seen a link from the NCAA's website showing anything other than 1995, 2002, and 2009. Regardless, we'll have all this crap behind us in less than a year.

The worst offenders weren't even on the football team. Only 6 guys on the football roster, including three on scholarship, were reprimanded.
If you say so, but you might want to re-educate.

Look at you Bammers, always wanting a link.

No. You need to educate yourself on the textbook system, which was being used by just about everyone across the country until Alabama's problems with it. Lets just see what comes of Nebraska's current issues.

Umm, that would be the 2002 rulling which bama was caught in a p4p scheme involving 3 different players. The ncaa found them guilty of ten majors along with a bunch on minors.

I've never even see the 1964 case brought up in an argument before. It's obvious that Alabama had its problems in the 1995, 2002, and 2009 cases. However, the '64 case was simply a public reprimand. I'm not even sure how it's an argument, other than to split hairs.

A Link... or a press conference... ha.

Do you mean the part where you said I was wrong and then proved you wrong. Riiiight.

Go to the ncaa website and search all majors from bama and you will find 5 in your search. Four for football and one for bball

No the part where you were insinuating that the players received money, in duping the old textbook system.

This is accurate, however, of the five letters from the NCAA being described as major, only three warranted any sanction whatsoever.

I applaud the athletes at Bama for scamming the textbooks the way they did. People that had to/have to pay for books in college know exactly how much bullshite that industry is.

Lord knows... BAMA has had its share of boosters with stupidity. I just find it comical that Barners love to spew venom about BAMA being SO dirty when the rest of the nation sees them at the TOP of the corrupt program totum pole. AND they view themselves as being squeaky clean... (see the Chiz 'mission')
It would be like Miami fans of the '80s thinking they are ultra-classy when the rest of the country viewed them as convicts.
