Missouri isn't a quality team and it's not in our region, but they added them anyway. Money is the only thing they consider in expansion, quality be damned.

Let's go to 28 teams. Merge the SEC and ACC and have four 7-team pods.
Play your pod and one team each from the other three. All traditional rivalries are put in the same pod so that all teams play everybody else every 7 years.
Winners of each pod play a kick-arse semifinal and final. Winner goes to play-off, wins natty 90% of the time.

Remove SEC teams and SEC Network checks start bouncing.

No more growth for SEC future expansion?
With the ACC league of grants deal and the upcoming Big 12 expansion, it seems like the SEC is stuck for the foreseeable future on expansion.
I don't see it as being stuck. I would rather the SEC remain as is until a natural/not forced opportunity arises. In other words wait for good prospects to come calling rather than making overtures to teams in other conferences that might not pan out.

Need to get rid of all secondary teams in SEC states.
Ole Miss: Gone
Auburn: Gone
That would be a good start.

Let us, for the sake of argument, say that we want to expand again for some reason.
Where could we possibly expand?
Well if we absolutely have to get two more teams I think recent history has shown that we'd have little difficulty looting the Big 12. Or we could set up a Hunger Games like fight for survival among American/Conference USA/Sunbelt schools.
Why bother though? Unless Virginia and a major NC school come calling we're already in the back yard of everyplace we could logically expand too.
Ding Ding Ding. We are perfectly situated between the ACC and Big 12 keeping both those conferences marginalized. There is no point in expanding.

Nothing gets a bunch of rednecks angry like change does

With the NC, VA, TX, and OK schools covered, it's no where for the SEC to go. As of right now, we are fine. But it is kind of concerning if P5 leagues go to 16 teams in the future.

Ah yes, another "dump Mizzou" thread. So original and interesting.

For now, cord cutting might change that.
I think the SEC won't expand/contract until a new era of television makes a decision obvious.

No it's not idiot, we don't need 16 teams.

I think the SEC should pick off the Oklahoma schools, move the Alabama schools to the East and we'd have even 8/8 divisions that are more geographically efficient.

Why? I'd love to be in the east.

Because if that was an actual possibility Mizzou would be in the SEC West right now.

South Florida is a sleeping giant in football.
I think the on-campus stadium gives UCF the edge long term and they'd be a better get for the Big 12 but dont think either one will get an invite.
