No more growth for SEC future expansion?

With the ACC league of grants deal and the upcoming Big 12 expansion, it seems like the SEC is stuck for the foreseeable future on expansion. There are no more quality schools in/near our region. With the NC, VA, TX, and OK schools covered, it's no where for the SEC to go. As of right now, we are fine. But it is kind of concerning if P5 leagues go to 16 teams in the future.

How can other leagues go to 16 if there are no good expansion options?

Think McFly, think!

yes to the first, negative to the second. Charter members of the SEC dont get dumped before the 4 intruders- period.

Mizzou and Arky can easily go Big12 and no one would care

Let us, for the sake of argument, say that we want to expand again for some reason.

Where could we possibly expand?

Well if we absolutely have to get two more teams I think recent history has shown that we'd have little difficulty looting the Big 12. Or we could set up a Hunger Games like fight for survival among American/Conference USA/Sunbelt schools.

Why bother though? Unless Virginia and a major NC school come calling we're already in the back yard of everyplace we could logically expand too.

I think it will happen eventually but not in the next 10 years.

Just seems like overkill to have two schools from a small state that no one really cares about. Maybe merge the MSU and OM programs?

Funny thing, is Big 12 have been approached by many schools, yet they stated NONE of those fit their expansion model for a school. They will either remain where they are at or make themselves look stupid with foolish additions of bottom feeders.

SEC is more then fine where they are at...perhaps we could send TAMU and Mizzou if the Big 12 pays us enough.

No way we ever need to expand again. Slive already did irreparable damage the first time (worst commissioner in CFB history.) We need to contract back to 12 teams.

I get some people don't like adding teams but you don't know much about the business side if you think that he did irreparable damage.

Weren't they the fastest team to get ranked #1?

We've already got the Florida market though

I'm not a a&m fan. But the sec will not get rid of a&m any time soon. They bring a ton of money and more TV sets to the table than any sec school that's a fact. A unknown fact for you as well my friend the sec commissioner is a a&m alumn as well.

I say give them back Mizzou for sure. I dont hate Mizzou but they just dont have a SEC feel. They are to far north. They belong in Big 10 or even ACC. As much as I dislike A&M I think they were a good addition to the conference.

Let's go to 20 teams. The eastern division would be the orginal SEC teams, and the west would be the old SWC. Division winners play in ATL for the title.
