The players are better. The game sucks.

The NBA is terrible. The regular season is the worst in professional sports and the players know it and sit out or dog it half the games.

Its a pure entertainment vehicle much like pro wrestling, especially with the rules they install

The playoffs are a different story although. I will grant you that

Rule changes have bogged CBB into a foul show. I love CBB but no one wants to see 50 fouls called in a 40 minute game. I'll take "no defense" over that any day of the week.

Thank God. I was just thinking the other day what would make college basketball better is more free throws.

There are more foul shots per minute in a NBA game than a college game.

James Harden throws his head back and grunts and he gets like 75 free throws in a row. I think that's a new rule

This is horrendous. Refs are already trash anyway, why are we wanting to slow the game down even MORE? And I mean, not all fouls are the same. You could get 4 fouls in the first 2 minutes with ticky tack things like reaching for a steal or a moving pick. AFter that the other team is shooting free throws even though you haven't even fouled the other team on a shot the whole game?

I just don't understand where this is comign from or why it's necessary. The NIT should experiment with finding competent officials first then start going nuts with the rules.

Just manually figured this out of curiosity and you're wrong. CBB has .5124 free throw attempts per minute and the NBA has .4860 attempts per minute.

I agree. He does it every time he drives to the basket. Throws his head back like he got uppercut. If they called those as flops he'd be bankrupt by the end of one game.

Well, there goes his whole argument

The NBA are definitely better shooters, but they are constantly wide open too

A college game at least features more contested shots for a myriad of reasons.

NBA regular season just reminds me of a virtual game of horse with talented players. Its not my cup of tea.

Are you talking SEC or all of NCAA. Because I had it at like .49 for NBA and like .45 for the NCAA. But I could be dead wrong

But this whole thing that the NCAA shoots all these foul shots compared to the NBA is bogus.

If your numbers are right that comes up to one extra free throw per game per 40 minutes than an NBA game. That's just a dumb argument that NBA is better because of one less free throw total per game.

Yeah but they reset to zero after 10 minutes. It's actually supposed to cut down on the free throws.

I've seen games this year when one team gets in the bonus after like 7 minutes. Then the rest of the game is a free throw conetest.

The SEC is .508. You're the one that brought up free throws. I have a problem with fouls. 51 fouls were called in Auburn's last two home games.

Best part.

The 1-and-1 is a joke. Why punish the team that got fouled?

Nb4 make your free throws and this isn't a problem!!!!!!111

ETA: It should be after 5 fouls in a quarter, though, IMO.

Because they're calling touch fouls out past the three point line now. Just puts more emphasis on what the refs are doing.

The 1-and-1 has always been stupid, even before the new rule changes

that. Although I prefer halfs.

I disagree. I'd rather have less control in the officials hands, but that's just me.

I feel like most people who like halves just like them because of nostalgic reasons and they "don't want to be like the NBA". Quarters would just work better overall.

Is this not what they are doing with the women's game already?

Yep it's much better. Nothing is worse when the game gets bogged down because both teams hit the double bonus 10 minutes into the half.
