USA Today
- Each team is limited to a team total of four personal and technical fouls (excluding administrative technical fouls) during each 10-minute segment of each half.
- The first 10-minute segment of each half will begin when the ball becomes live to begin the half and will end when the game clock reads 10:00. The second segment will begin when the game clock reads 9:59 and ends when the half ends.
- When a team has reached the four-foul limitation, all subsequent personal and technical fouls (excluding administrative technical fouls) will be penalized by two free throw attempts.
- Each team’s foul total will reset to zero when any 10-minute segment has ended.
- The rules regarding penalties for fouls in the act of shooting, flagrant fouls or technical fouls will not be affected by this experimental rule and will always result in two free throws unless the rules specifically say otherwise.
- In any overtime period, when a team has reached a total of three personal and technical fouls (excluding administrative technical fouls), all subsequent personal and technical fouls will be penalized by two free throw attempts.

Make it 5 fouls and it'd be perfect

The best form of improvement is to nuke the SEC officiating and hire some new guys

The scary thing is.... when the NIT experiments with certain rules, the NCAA usually adopts them the next year. I could see quarters happening with the team fouls in place. I like the halves as that's unique to college basketball, but look, with the stoppage of play every 4 minutes anyway, I don't see why we just don't go to quarters.

Going to all NBA rules is long overdue. You can keep the quarters and 3 point line shorter and the 5 fouls instead of 6, but beyond that, every NBA rule should be implemented in college.

Wait am I reading this right? The clock will count up to 10:00 in the first half and down from it in the second?

Don't like it at all. Make it ten and it would be better. If I'm reading correctly, it eliminates the one and one.

Read it again
Each half

They should go to 4 quarters - 10 minutes per quarter.

Agree. I love the 1 and 1...college should not do away with it

Almost every time they move in that direction it makes the game worse. The one recent exception being the shorter shot clock.

This looks like what they already do for women's basketball.
The men's game lags the women's game by 2 years in terms of the rule changes.

The main rule I want them to change is that it's no longer required that every play results in a foul call.

You'd have to put John Higgins, Tim Higgins, Eddie Hightower, Teddy Valentine, Joe DiRossa, and Pat Adams out to pasture for that to happen.

They test out new rules on the women and keep the ones they like.

The NBA sucks. There is no reason to adopt anything to resemble the NBA unless you are professional wrestling or the ringling brothers circus

The NBA is miles better than CBB right now and it's not even close.

The talent and officiating maybe, but I like to see defense more than twice a half.
