Not sure where the 1/100 Chance to play again when this was a quote after surgery.
quote:

"Dr. Andrews was very confident in Drew's ability to come back," Loomis said. "I had another doctor tell me he'd seen similar injuries in baseball and the first year Drew might not be 100 percent, but by Year Two he should be fine. If you draft a quarterback, it's going to take him two years to get him ready to play anyway. I never had any doctor say to me, 'No, absolutely not.' But there were different opinions on how long it would take."

Saban went with the information the Miami Dolphins doctors gave him. Most Dr. said Brees only had a 25% chance of recovering.

Sean Payton took a huge gamble and it paid off.

Chris Mortensen reported on one of the ESPN radio shows about a discussion he had with Dr. Andrews. Andrews said that Brees' shoulder was in worse shape than he initially thought. He had a 360 degree tear in his labrum that required 8 surgeons to be present to repair. Andrews said that Brees' recovery was totally against the grain, as he would have given him a 1/100 chance at regaining his previous form.
