That's false. You think N.O. would have signed him if his injury was considered career ending?

It was risky in that no one knows how an individual will return after an injury. But it was not "considered" career ending.

Can you really blame him? People forget that Brees had a seriously messed up shoulder at the time. The Saints got the steal of the century.
Yes! Culpepper's knee was pretty fricked up too. I, like a lot of Dolphin's fans I know, was livid at the midgett for that move.

You must not be much of a dolphins fan if you didn't know that Miami's medical staff WOULD NOT clear brees.

Oh, I was aware that he was not cleared but Culpepper should not have been an option either.

EDIT:
Plus, who really is that much of a NFL fan when we have college football.

You gotta blame the medical staff for clearing Culpepper. And I admit I'm more die hard about bama than the saints. I don't get as upset when the saints lose as I do bama. All my life the saints had been screw ups so it was hard to expect anything else. That said, these past few years sure have been a pleasure watching the saints win.

Saban passed on Tracey Porter, he just isn't very good at noticing talent.

Yeah you're right he's a terrible talent evaluator. He should have been begging perriloux to sign with lsu. Or are yall gonna blame him for perriloux as well?

It's interesting how QB injuries have had such an impact on Saban's fortunes in the last few years.

Even Brees' own surgeon Dr. Andrews said that he had a 1/100 chance of ever playing again.

Of course, in all likelihood, LSU doesn't win the NC in 2007 without Perriloux, the MVP of the SEC championship game when Flynn was out hurt.
So, was Perriloux worth it? Probably. Just a shame it didn't work out for the longer run.
(And Saban, of course, is a good talent evaluator, but even he misses occasionally.)

Perriloux was definitely instrumental in the 07 championship. He has a world of talent. But he's gonna piss it away if he doesn't straighten up. He could be a good NFL qb if he would just quit doing stupid shite.

Is that why he went with culpepper because he always was known for handing the ball off

I don't know if we got the steal of the century. We gave Brees a 10m per year contract with a seriously messed up shoulder. I look at as we took the gamble of the century and got a good deal.
