Yeah. Of course, Pruitt certainly benefited (as did Bama) from players in the secondary like:
Dre Kirkpatrick - 1st rounder
Dee Milliner - 1st rounder
Haha Clinton-Dix - 1st Rounder
Mark Barron - 1st Rounder
Robert Lester - still in NFL
Vinni Sunseri - 5th rounder
And guys putting pressure on QB like:
Dareus - 1st rounder
Hightower - 1st rounder
Mosley - 1st rounder
Upshaw - 2nd rounder
Pruitt helped Bama, no doubt, but he was helped by the talent. While Bama still has talented players, they don't have the 2010-2012 level of talent at CB or LB right now.

SEC champs against some of the best total crop of receivers in the conference in my recent memory last year. May have been as bad at covering the deep ball as I ever saw last year.
And don't forget... the SEC Champ is in the playoffs.
