Not true. Saban and Hugh are recent examples of giving kids a chance that don't fricking deserve one. He should be held accountable his decision to allow him on the team AT ALL.

Again, this is a problem for many coaches, Saban and Hugh are just recent examples.

What was harmed by allowing him on the team?

Our image?

Who gives a shite? Taylor needs help. Saban attempted to provide it.

Why?

I don't know this. But I assume any reasonable father would not want his daughter with a woman-beater.

Saban has no involvement with the girl. And you've missed the point entirely. The kid never deserved a chance.

And your last paragraph is rhetoric at best. It has nothing to do with the conversation.

Idc about Alabama and their image. Again, that's not the point. The point is that some people don't deserve a chance to play football at this level. And if a coach makes a full blown mistake by providing that opportunity, he should own it.

And it clearly was a mistake. Any reasonable person can see that.

This is an opinion not a fact.

Why do you get to decide that?

Why does anyone outside of the head football coach, athletic director, and president (ALL of whom signed off on this) get to have a say so in who is allowed to join a team?

Fine, he should hold himself accountable. He's masking the fact that he wanted a good player by saying he wanted to give a kid a second chance. Give me a fricking break. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see he made a terrible judgement call for the better of his football team.

Well it's an opinion shared by most people who aren't Alabama fans.

This is a guess.

What if had worked out differently and Taylor turned the corner, got help, went on to become a great person.

It's important to you because it's Nick Saban and he coaches Alabama.

Who should he apologize to?

The defense for Saban and apathy for domestic violence is real in this thread.

Apathy? Seriously? A discussion over this topic can't be had between fanbases on this board for the same reason. Because it's Nick Saban and he coaches Alabama. Alabama fans are going to defend him and opposing fans are going to find fault. It is what it is.

Idk, how does that AD and head coach get paid? It's not a private university.

I can't post much more. Short lunch break.

Well it didn't and that's all the proof my argument needs. Most woman beaters are repeat offenders. Look up the stats.

UPT, thanks for the signature Alabama fan response. But I think I've made it clear that I think this is a problem in all of athletics. A HC has the power to give a woman beater, thief, rapist etc a second chance. Something is wrong with that IMO.

Your argument that I dislike Alabama football holds no weight here, as I'd say the same thing if it were Texas or South Carolina.

Your argument is tiring and frankly, not an intelligent one. No one is saying we want him to apologize to us directly. But I think someone incapable of owning their mistakes has a character flaw.

What is it that you want? Because if it's an apology from Saban or Saban saying he made a mistake, you're gonna be frustrated for a long time. At least until you let it go.

So if rehabbing him works. Saban is a good person. If it failed Saban is a piece of shite. Are Judges who give people second chances pieces of shite if those people frick up those chances?
