If Saban loses to Miles again on Saturday for the 3rd straight year, does that make Les Miles the best coach in CFB?

Answer: Yes.

None of you would choose Bill Snyder as your teams coach over Nich Saban, even if they were the same age.

I would be happy with either

Alabama and kState's resources (talent, facilities, recruiting, money) aren't even in the same stratosphere. Winning at kState is damn near impossible

What has he won? A few games? Hell coaches are paid to win games. Just winning games and no championships isn't a sign of a great coach its the sign of a decent coach.

the real question is do you think Saban could win a National Championship at Kansas State.

Don't guess we'll ever know. But he could. He does have a great program for getting recruits, but I think he could coach any talent level and get them to play pretty dadgum well.

Don't you think Saban could get just as good recruits in Manhattan and coach them just as well as Snyder this year?

Stop hating the guy,he did a lot for LSU,now he's elsewhere.
It's okay to admit he's the best coach in college football by a wide margin, makes it even sweeter when we beat that arse in Death Valley

Any Bama fan that pooh-poohs what Bill Snyder has done at KSU needs to do two things:
1.) go to Manhattan, KS
It is the mid-West version of Starkghanistan.
2.) take a look at where KSU was as a program prior to Snyder. They were then what Colorado is now.

Would I trade Saban for Snyder? Not a chance. But he is a magnificent coach that has performed a near miracle in Manhattan.

Would you take Bill Snyder over Les Miles?

I know I wouldn't take Snyder over Saban.

At his age no, but ten years ago maybe. He is obiviously better at Xs and Os than Miles, but Miles is a hell of a recruiter. As others have said that has to be a factor also. My point is I don't feel Saban created LSU or Bama, he awoke the potential already there. Dinardo proved what LSU could be, and even Shula had bama close. I like to come here and the rant and hate on him, but that is what these boards are far it's fun. I think Saban is a great coach I just think what Snyder is doing there is harder than what Saban or Miles is doing at their respective schools.

Saban's ability to consistently recruit high caliber players and his ability to get them to buy in to the program should not be discounted.

Bama boosters have much more to do with getting top recruits than Saban's magic.

Mich st and LSU under Saban weren't bringing in near the talent that Alabama has the past 5 years

Saban is a good coach, but has every competitive advantage at his disposal at Alabama. A modern day Dennis Erickson.

Snyder and Spurrier have done more with less which is why they are better coaches than NS

Snyder is certainly one of the greats, but "doing more with less" should not be the only criteria

What about "exceeding expectations"? Is that part of the criteria?
