Bama fans can today theoretically tell you that they understand that and will give the next guy more rope, but that rope gets frayed when the next guy loses two Iron Bowls in a row or something like that.

Eh, even a bad coach could win 9+ with the talent stockpile Saban would be leaving them with.

We get a good coach, and we'll be 11+ in wins for at least 2-3 years, and then they'll have to rely on their own recruiting.

Hey, we all overstate things to get engagement and discussion. Most of my first dates ended about 20 seconds after I told the girl about my gifted 'endowment'. Despite that, I still consider it a legitimate strategy.

I am sure your endowment is more than ample, and obviously your nuts must be huge to wave such red meat in front of an A&M fan.

Nutt was an odd case.

Not as odd as it seems. Other SEC head coaches who were the top guy at multiple SEC schools:

Tommy Tuberville
Steve Spurrier
Coach O
Nick Saban
Bill Curry
Gerry DiNardo
Bear Bryant

If it helps bring some optimism, Saban proteges are not unlimited. He's not going to be training new coaches for much longer, and due to Bama's outsized influence, new coordinators are likely to be high-level experienced guys who already have their own brand.

Honestly I am not that depressed about Bama. Their success isn't really standing in the way of my program (its not like we win every other game) yet it does boost the SEC brand that my team uses to recruit.

I accept he is the GOAT and I don't hold it against him.

The outlier here is obviously Georgia, and it's not a coincidence that the main argument for Richt's demise usually started with how he "couldn't get over the hump" with all those top-10 recruiting classes.

Inferior juice.

If the boosters and sniffers haven't learned from the experience Saban has given them, they never will.
I hope Saban has some say in, and helps to prepare, his successor.

As to the general direction of this thread, Saban is not responsible for a single that has happened at other schools. They are.
If, rather than chasing Bama and worrying about beating Saban they had worked on every game and won them with their only loss to Bama, they would be in the playoffs. The Bama effect is real because other coaches and teams have made it so. Be the best you can be and let the rest work itself out. Stop blaming Saban.
