He was charged with felony counts of burglary, larceny, and obstructing justice. Are we just going to forget about that?

Claiming this is as absurd as claiming he's a jerk 99% of the time.

99% of his time he is unknown.

Whatever dude, make it majority or whatever percentage you like. Anyway, you're purposefully trying to navigate around the concept that Cam is generally thought to be a pretty good human being off the field.

Eeeehhhhhhhhh......

A guy could volunteer in soup kitchens and read to the blind every weekend for a decade, but then he kills one guy and that other stuff goes out the window.

Cam HAS done a lot of really, really good things for kids, his community, I assume his alma mater, and on and on. But that doesn't mean he's not capable of also being a childish, immature punk. Which he is.

Thug? Why? Or just classless ?

Just classless. He's clearly not a thug. He's equally clearly not classy.

I mean he is just clearly a child-like immature dude still. He seems to have a pretty good, child like heart, but he also still acts like a child in terms of sulking, being a bad loser, bad body language, etc. I think we all know/knew people like this. Fun, good natured, really nice dudes but sometimes you just want to punch them when they start down the immature path.

It really isn't very complicated I don't think.

Cam is bad winner though too.

He is a "look at me guy" all the way. He rubs a lot of people the wrong way the way he acts on the field win or lose.

He reminds me of that 12 year old brat that has been enabled all his life.

And there are numerous people that will be telling him that the crap he pulled last night is ok.

Hes an onfield douchebag and it wont change. He deserves the beating he will get

Agreed.

He has to learn that if he is going to insist on representing Superman, he has to do so not only when he's bitch-slapping Lex Luthor, but also after Batman spanks that Super arse.

I still don't see "thug" when I see Cam Newton - and I am hardly one of his apologists here. I really don't get that.

Working in IT, I tend to see (and get irritated by) cocky people. So, perhaps I am not inherently unbiased when seeing some of his displays.

But thug? No, not even close. I've worked in a prison, and I've seen "thug". Cam Newton isn't within a light-year of "thug".

Well, that depends. Has he recommitted any acts of burglary, larceny, and obstructing justice? Or has he learned from those mistakes?

He still has maturity issues, obviously, but I'm not going to call a guy a thug for an isolated incident that happened 8 years ago. Dude accepted his punishment, lost his scholarship at Florida, and has been clean since. He's a douche but not a thug.

Spin it as you will but don't over look that gutless non-attempt to recover that fumble.

but yes, i think he's classless. i think he hired an excellent life coach or pr firm or something after auburn or he'd be acting like he did yesterday all the time. they can't control him live and unscripted tho so he loses and he acts like a loser.

We have different definitions of thug. Anyone who parades himself around like he does, has been charged with the crimes he has been charged with, has been caught on video threatening to beat people for not getting out of his way, is a thug POS in my book. We're supposed to dismiss his actions because he may or may not volunteer? Ok. Well in that case I guess John Wayne Gacy is a good guy too. He too, was thought of as an upstanding citizen because of his involvement with charity and his community.

RIGHT because Carolina has clearly never taught him how to lose being the dynasty they are. Reality is people didn't care until he started winning.
