I'd be for relegation. I actually really like the system. I think it should be done every 3 years though

Do it right. 32 teams in the league.
16 teams in the conference.
8 teams in the division.
8 teams play each other = 7 games.
Winners of the Division play= 1game.
Winners of the conference play = 1 game.
That's 9 games to get to a national champion.
That leaves 12-7= 5 games to schedule.
Those 5 games have to be with the 32 league..
So you would play 14 games to get to the champion.
16 teams in the conference.
