The Marigny is a seedy looking block where you'll find mostly Indie types. Music clubs, jazz bars, a reggae bar, and a few other dive bars.
Your average tourist to NOLA doesn't go here. Its safe at night as long as you use common sense.

DBA is one of the coolest bars in the city. Love that place.
I love going to hear music for a little while at the Spotted Cat, eating at Adolfo's, then more music at the Apple Barrel, and good drinking and music at DBA.
That area is so much better than hanging out on Bourbon.

DBA is one of the coolest bars in the city. Love that place.
I love going to hear music for a little while at the Spotted Cat, eating at Adolfo's, then more music at the Apple Barrel, and good drinking and music at DBA.
That area is so much better than hanging out on Bourbon.
This type of nightlife district is not found in many other US Cities. Like I said earlier it kind of reminds me to an extent of NYC's Lower East Side, Washington DC's Adams Morgan, Dallas Lower Greenville, Seattle Capitol Hill,...Hippy, eccentric, seedy, lots of Democrats, etc.
