And in spite of a failed attempt to displace him, Miles is still a quiet second in the SEC. Guess averaging over 10 wins a season does count with some folks.

13. Gus Malzahn, Auburn (10): Malzahn falls out of the top 10 and only drops three spots, but he's on the precipice of falling much further. Things started out magnificently when Auburn won 12 games and played for a national title in his first season, but the Tigers have won only 15 games the last two years, and they severely underperformed compared to their expectations in 2015. Another down season will see Malzahn's stock plummet ... and possibly seeking new employment.

How is a coach on the hot seat one of the top 15 coaches in the country?

Either this list is shite or the writers are passing subliminal hints about Auburn as a program.

so 7-17 conference play. I'm not going to include the OOC wins and losses. Does that sound like a top 25 coach?

given what he walked into and given the quality of several of those other coaches listed- yes he deserves it.

I'm trying to picture what Freeze would've done with Eli Manning vs what Cut was able to do.

Yes. Unlike you, the writer looked at his career at a whole to judge the value of a coach and not just the train wreck he inherited at Arkansas in year one.

ETA: I see now the meaning behind your post. Sorry you're mad that Mullen wasn't included.

This proves, once again, that the media hates Mississippi State.

Freeze had three first round draft picks and beat Bama and LSU and STILL didn't make it to Atlanta. Cut only had Eli

Yep. Obviously you don't know about the dumpster fire that Bielema inherited his first year, plus completely changing the offensive philosophy with players that were recruited to run a different scheme.

A coach going from 0-8 to 2-6 to 5-3 in conference play is doing his job well IMO.

Basically what every first year coach walks into unless the previous coach willingly left.
