Since we are talking logic, why would he commit to Ole Miss if he knew exactly what he was signing? Which means he knew he couldn't go anywhere in the SEC besides Alabama.

If no one is crying foul, then why are we even discussing this?

Solid sourcing.

Great quoting.

Andrew Bone of Rivals.com was informed he committed to Alabama weeks ago.

Hill said in his interview after publicly committing to Alabama a couple days ago that he signed financial papers for Alabama. So yes, he knew what he was signing.

Sure, lots of people on message boards are crying foul but what about the Ole Miss beat reporter's story was "crying foul"?

He's not responsible for the conclusions that other people draw from his report.

The financial aid papers your talking about aren't even in question. So yes he knew what he was signing then. The question is the contract he signed outside of his LOI last February that binded him to Alabama.

Again, superb linkage.

Also, it really doesn't matter whether he knew or not. Nobody can prove anything shady happened. He's old enough to sign papers and he signed it.

If Hill was forced to re-commit with Alabama against his will I'm sure we would have heard about it by now.

Damnit people. THE FINANCIAL AID PAPERS HE SIGNED LAST WEEK ARE NOT THE ISSUE.

So, the issue is that he signed GIA papers last February just like hundreds of other high school seniors?

No he signed a contract unique to prep schools outside his LOI that binded him to Alabama and Alabama had to save a spot for him.

Well then, let me rephrase. Who is calling foul in this situation? Hill or fans of the team he was previously committed to?

WTF dude?

I link it and you are too poor to read it?

Here is what he said (again ill post it):

“I’m getting to Alabama on January 7. I signed a financial aid agreement. I’m planning on getting with Coach Cochran and getting down to size real quick. A lot of people talk about my weight but I don’t think everyone understands the weight I can play with. At my old high school, I played at 365 and was moving well. At prep school, I played at 380 and was still moving well.

Ahhhh. There was talk of this contract unique to prep schools in the thread on the SEC Recruiting board. I asked everyone who mentioned it to provide some evidence of its existence. Maybe you can come thru where they failed.

Better question, I agree.

And yes, if Hill isn't crying foul then there really isn't much of a story here, is there?

Now that I re-read the Clarion Ledger story I see this:

quote:

Hill signed with Alabama originally in the class of 2012, but did not qualify and enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy. He signed the agreement while at Hargrave, a source close to the Ole Miss program told the Clarion-Ledger, and it seems may have not realized exactly what it meant.

A source "close to Ole Miss". That's it.

Hugh just reported it. And that's likely where the story will die.
