Stephen, as your lawyer, I shouldn't say this, but I hope they lock you up for a good while. You're clearly too dumb to be allowed to live in the free world.

Whose two current OC's have exactly 2 years of OC experience?

The complete lack of self-awareness checks out.

Season hasn't started, so no way to tell anything about the defense. We did however clean house on that side of the ball and brought in a lot better coaches/recruiters, so time will tell. By all accounts it has been addressed.

That is what LSU fans said when Kelly took over as the HC and hired very good DC and OC. The DC was supposed to be one of the best DC at the college level. What happened to him and the LSU defense? Now Kelly cleaned out the whole defensive coaches. LSU are now saying it will be much better. Yes, it should be, but you never know because the last defensive coaches were homerun hires that didn't work out. Are you saying this time will work out better than the last defensive coaches hired?

They went from “we can get whoever we want” to a guy 4 total years of D1 football head coaching experience spread over 2 programs, and a couple guys penciled in.

They've always been out to get Stephen. He's just a little short king, just trying to make his way in the world.

People always overvalue or undervalue any coordinator hire. I’d rather have something that fits than a big name for media points.

I don’t think Saban made one OC hire that didn’t have detractors.

Regardless, the OC was always going to be someone familiar to DeBoer and his system. People will point to Sheridan’s failures at Indiana. But Grubb was quite bad on his own too at Fresno State.

Bama has a HC and two coordinators with no SEC coaching experience

This seems to be a pattern. I was shocked Alabama hired a west coast guy that's only been a D1 head coach for four years and has absolutely no SEC experience. Deboer then goes to fill his staff with a bunch of inexperienced coaches that also have zero SEC experience.

The SEC is where the big boys play and last time I checked Washington and Indiana aren't in the SEC and don't play nearly the competition. I'm starting to think Deboer was hired because he's someone Saban can control where a really experienced HC would have told Saban to enjoy his retirement in Florida!

Yes. Coach DeBoer is the OC.

So why hire an OC at all, if that is the case? The reality is he may have a say-so in the offense, but he's got too much on his plate as HC to be able to call all the plays, which makes his hire even more questionable.

Why would any head coach of a major college football team go out and hire an OC that was so bad at Indiana that he was fired after one year and hasn't been hired as an OC since?

I can't predict the future, but if he sucked at Indiana as OC, the SEC is not the place to learn on the job! Maybe in the Big 10 and Pac-12 training wheels were allowed, but in the SEC you better put your big boy pants on and be able to perform at a high level or Kirby, CBK, Freeze, Kiffin, Drinkwitz and Sark are going to embarrass you every Saturday!

It might be hard to believe, but Alabama wouldn't be the first team to go from a NC contender to everyone's favorite homecoming opponent in one year!
