Pretty random moment happened to me.

I was in a Furr’s about 30 minutes southwest of Houston when I noticed a woman in a Kentucky sweater. Despite the chilly temps, she was wearing very tight Yoga pants.

A dramatization:

Anyway, it got me thinking about the upcoming basketball season.

LSU starts the SEC season off with a bang, playing in Knoxville against UT(e).

LSU plays Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Texas A&M twice.

LSU plays at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin as well against UT(w). Should be a lot of LSU fans that make the trip west on Jan 25.

Then I looked at the NCAA Tournament sites and, if you’re a Kentucky fan, you have to be happy. It’s virtually home court advantage all the way through.

Here’s a scenario of how it could play out:

First/Second Round:

Greensboro, NC

Third/Fourth Round:

Indianapolis, IN

Fifth/Sixth Round:

Atlanta, GA

I think UK would rather have St. Louis or Cleveland in the opening rounds as they are both over an hour closer to Lexington than Greensboro. Besides, I think it would be a shock if somehow both Duke and UNC didn't get Greensboro.

Depends on where Duke and UNC are at that time of year.

Also, Louisville is supposed to be a Top 5 team this year so that makes that first round pretty crowded depending on how it shakes out.

Considering we are still playing exhibition games I'd hold off on predicting what a great NCAAT anyone is going to have.

I am sure Kentucky will do quite well this season but... maybe we should get a few games into this season before we start looking at what they will do in the Big Dance?

On the map Greensboro looked closer but you are right. Both are almost 90 minutes closer to Lexington than Greensboro.

St Louis is closer to LEX than Cleveland by two minutes, so no real big difference there.

I would rather go to STL, personally.
