I am not focusing on whether or not the hits on Berry and Noil were, or were not targeting and that the calls were blown.
Whet I heard yesterday was Gary Danielson saying that they had heard from the SEC office in Birmingham and clearly what Danielson said they said -- misrepresented the NCAA rules on targeting.

And an interception return is not a "fast-paced play?"
But TAMU player gets ejected while 'Bama player remains in the game. Hmmm.

Maybe SEC should move their offices to a neutral site like Nashville.

I think an important thing happened yesterday.
What happened that in that instance is that the officials applied the rule -- that the SEC office said didn't exist.
A helmet to helmet hit was made and called, but it wasn't called when Noil was hit helmet to helmet.

He launched himself helmet first at the player's head without attempting to block with his arms or shoulder pads.
I'm not necessarily a fan of the call, but I think it fit the description of targeting more than the kickoff return.

Replay missed a call that ended up giving aTm a TD. The long catch on the sideline where the receiver's first foot down was clearly on the line. It was obvious.

It was called a catch on the field. It wasn't overturned.

His toe was clearly out of bounds. They blew it.

The receiver was out of bounds, but I can see why they didn't overturn it. When the losing team gets a call, everyone forgets about it.
No big deal, tears are delicious
