I'm calling bullshite! You are in every conversation involving Nick Saban - Alabama football - NCAA vilolations - NCAA rules - Oversigning by Saban. I'm pretty damn sure you were involved in a topic that was exhausted in the summer about the HUNH offense.
I can verify this.

Defense can stop the game and sub at any time by fouling. A football defense has no such option.
You technically could commit a "foul" by having a lineman intentionally encroach. Or you have 3 times during each half to call a timeout.

I think you mean Busch League.
i thought busch was a beer. i'm thinking bush leagues were the small rural baseball leagues played with their own set of rules. where you could drink busch in the bush with your favorite bush.

Not at all a valid comparison. Defense can stop the game and sub at any time by fouling. A football defense has no such option.
sure you do. I guarantee you that the refs stop the clock while trying to figure out why a DT walks up and just kicks the ball about 5 feet away from the center.

umm... yes they do
you can go down with a "cramp"
you can jump offside and touch a player ending the play
you can call a time out
the average team runs about 75 to 80 plays per game.
lets say 65 of those are run outside the magical 2 minute mark.
ok well that means each is going to be forced to waste a little under 11 minutes each wasting for the other team to line up.
a typical game is going to see teams spend required a minimum of 22-23 minutes JUST LINING UP.

It is not a stupid change.
Why should the offense have all the control over subs.
Pussyfied offense should hace never bern allowed to have total control of the game.
Thw NFL. Made rules to curtail this BS to a degree way back during Sam Wyches days at Cincinnati.
The next rule should be the Peyton Manning rule : If you don't hudle your playclock should be only 25 seconds.

Saban's relationship with Mark Emmert continues to pay dividends. Bow down to our political acumen.

Exactly this. I really love it how the only people bitching about the substitution thing are fans of schools who run the HUNH. Your coaches found loopholes in the rules, the loophole is about to be closed, get over yourselves.

The idea of snapping the ball too soon being a "delay of game" penalty is fricking ridiculous

yea but it'll stop your fans from booing injured players. having the trainers out on the field all the time takes a lot of time.

Agreed. That rule is overkill. I'm fine with the 10-second substitution rule. Everything else can go.

You dumb shits act like both teams don't have offenses and defenses. This isn't an advantage to one side since both teams have the opportunity to do the same thing. If they proposed that only home teams could snap the ball faster than 10 seconds after the playclock started, then I would jump on board saying the rule was bull shite.
