Passing a law saying it's okay to discriminate causes your state to lose money because the free market doesn't want to do business there. Hopefully this will stop Texas from passing a similar bill they are working on.

Quit being a dumbass. Local city councils (including Houston, by the way) were passing laws that required businesses to allow people to use whatever bathroom they want. North Carolina thought this was a bad idea and forbid local ordinances from passing such laws. Big fricking deal.

That's pretty big on the men's basketball front as they typically host at least one to two sites for the NCAA Tournament in UNC or Duke's region.

Yes. They are relocating 7 events. the NCAA tournament rounds 1 & 2 was one of them. This also affects soccer, golf, other sports too. Crazy.

Several events have been cancelled in NC. Not just NCAA events. It's all a reaction to one law that was passed in fear of something that does not matter.

Hmm. Could be the start of the end of the NCAA. Which I fully support. Those frickers are truly some of the hypocritical people on the planet.

They haven't announced yet. They just issued a press release today that said 7 championship events would be moved.

I agree it's a non issue. Most of my ire is reserved for the local city councils requiring businesses to allow people to use whatever bathroom they choose. This wasn't an issue until those folks forced the issue.

Good for the ncaa!!!
North carolina joined mississipi as the only states to not allow employment discrimination suits of any kind in state court.
If you find yourself in agreement with mississipi law on discrimination, might be a red flag..just sayin'

Before so many of you rush to judgement. Think about this. There are millions of people who were born hermaphrodites (male and female genitalia). What sex should they associate with? I didn't realize there were so many people in the US as well that were born this way. Why should they be ridiculed or scorned for a condition they didn't ask for? I'm all for them choosing whatever bathroom they associate with.

I don't think this is about some 40 year old man wanting to go into the female bathroom to get a peek. Maybe I'm wrong and ya'll can educate me. We're talking about people who associate with one sex. I don't have a problem with that. You probably have more men looking at your penis now anyway. Why should you care if a woman dressed as a man did too? If you're that concerned go into a stall, which most likely they are doing anyway.

I think it should have been a non issue but somebody complained seeing one of them going into a bathroom and now we're up to this.

It's 2016. Why the hell are people fighting for their right to discriminate? Hate to sound like an after school special, but can't we all just get along? You were born with a penis and want people to call you a lady? Fine. You have a cock and want to stick it in another dude? Go for it. No one should be able to deny you housing or a job based on these things. Why is this still an issue? frick companies like Hobby Lobby that say it's their Christian values that give them a right to discriminate. That goes against the entire ideology of Christianity. It isn't your fricking place to judge.

The bathroom thing is a safety and privacy issue. I get that. But there haven't been any issues with it, just paranoia. Even DONALD TRUMP, the most ridiculous person in the world has said NC didn't need to pass that law.

Nope. Opposite. There's never been a question about which bathroom a person is supposed to use until some millennial gimp decided that Male and Female labels on doors are microaggressive symbols of institutionalized bigotry.

The gays got marriage, which they should have... and now the people who made a career out of civil rights for gays have run out of work. So now they are just making shite up.
