I fell asleep on the couch tonight. I got in bed to try to sleep, because I have to spend all day in the car tomorrow, due to flights gone awry from the blizzard. I'm wide awake. I'm totally screwed.

They're closer to reality than you guys.

Let me get this straight: Lance Thompson leaving for a Coordinator job instead of staying at UT as a position coach means he's leaving because of Kiffin??

I thought you guys only did coke over at Bama...

Just looked at the scout board for Tn... they're saying.. much ado over nothing... someone just talked to someone in the program and it's been straightened out, no prob... NY Times is a rag, they're mean and trying to make their girls look like ho's and last but not least.. we're getting publicity..

There's a few taking it much more seriously on volnation.

There is not a single undergraduate student at the flagship university of the state of Alabama that partakes in Columbia's finest. Not. A. One.

Next up, I hope they investigate Auburn. I believe there is youtube video of two of their fans going to everyone of Dyer's game and badgering him with signs and chants to go to Auburn.

That's where I went and they don't seem to think it is no big deal. If the NCAA is doing a widespread investigation it is bad. They didn't even do that to us with the textbook deal and we were already on probation.

I hope Tennessee is fricked.

You would think that the NCAA would be circumspect enough to just confirm a general investigation rather than telling the NY Times that its investigation centered on the "use of hostesses," because whether there's anything to this or not, they're pretty much ensuring that our college girls are going to get reputations as whores. Nice.

did they really think everyone needed a nyt article before we thought that?

Yeah.....this is a poor man's effort to try to drag down our recruiting class, as we're taking over...... Bitter coaches like Cryer, Spur-dork, Satan, and ChickStick, trying to tell recruits to smoke us........pathetic!

Speaking of Auburn... Did y'all hear the back story on Eric Smith and why that one could blow up?

Did you read the story in Fortune magazine about Bobby Lowder from about a month ago, that mentioned a slush fund?

The SEC (not the collegiate conference) has undertaken a intensive review of Lowder and his holdings. That is all I have heard.

I did.. is there a possible connection with it and Eric "Rocky Balboa" Smith?

and another from volnation:

quote:

There aren't "SO MANY" secondaries...not compared to other SEC programs as well as plenty other BCS schools. They're about average. Fulmer had more at times, but you just didn't hear about it. Ours just got spotlighted due to all the verbal jousting from Kiffin and Meyer.

I can tell you right now, Meyer must've really pissed Kiffin off with his low-class attempts to cock-block CLK while Nuke was here on an official visit on OUR dime. That is what this whole thing is about. If reporters want to dig up some juicy stuff, I suggest they go after Meyer and why he felt the need to be such an @$$, knowing full well that Nuke was with UT coaches at the UT/UF BBall game...in progress.

It may not be against NCAA rules, but it damn well ought to be. What Meyer did was tantamount to walking up to a girl and start hitting on her right in front of her date...and an EXPENSIVE date at that! Anytime a recruit is on an OFFICIAL visit, NCAA rules should bar other schools from contacting those recruits.

That is what got all of this started. CLK has been very complementary toward other SEC coaches, save Spurrier...so Meyer's own shananigans started this feud.
The media knows people like a good fight and thus it boosts ratings to instigate and keep it going as long as possible.

Pretty sure the gayturds would be behind this. I doubt the NCAA has reps hanging out on fan message boards looking for something to investigate. Meyer got wind of the hostesses and there were a few photos posted on here where they looked a little chumy...doesn't mean a thing, and in the end I suspect this investigation will be just another Jerry Springer episode...

Oh man.

This is rich.

Lance Thompson is rumored to be switching jobs again?

He won't need much to climb over that "fence" around Tennessee.

It strikes me as hilarious that some of them are blaming other schools for dropping the dime on them, when they themselves are notorious for doing that. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, they're up in arms over it. And all the enemies that LK has made is coming home to roost. THIS is what folks were saying would happen the more he ran his mouth and yall defended Vols fans. (To the couple of good vols fans here.. sorry.. I know it sux.)
