Takes a lot of the drama out of it but I would be all for an early signing period. Would take the stress and pressure off of kids that know where they want to go and keep other coaches from consistently blowing them up.

Finally.

Will antibarner claim this is the rule Saban was really after and the others were just a smokescreen?

It depends on when the early signing period is...but could hurt the SEC. All SEC teams seem to get a few recruits from smaller schools as their senior years progress. If that kid was already signed with someone else, it would be talent lost.

Would cut down on flips, particularly by those who are COERCED to flip.

Maybe. I think that the cycle will just move up considerably. It was headed that direction anyway with the dearth of EEs. This will just put added pressure on evaluation.

It's my favorite bourbon, by far. Have you tried the Gold or SR yet?
I've had a lot of bourbon, Blanton's Gold is better than any I've tasted, including Pappy Van Winkle 12 year (haven't tried the 20 year yet). Only problem is it's a little pricey and really hard to find.

Hope that doesn't pass, the drama is why I have come to love it and follow it so much now.

Saban does not want an early signing period, that will hinder processing recruits and greyshirting

Why would any good recruit want to sign early? They tend to like the attention and probably want to be wined and dined until the end

Just like basketball, its not going to be mandatory. But it will help with some kids, like in this years LSU class, guys like Clapp, Brumfield, and Voorhies could have signed early.

Some kids would welcome it, some wouldn't. But it could potentially cut down on some headaches for players and coaches.

There's a lot of good players they don't look for attention. Tre Williams and Roc Thomas are two that come to mind for me. They probably would've signed in the early period. They didn't take any visits or anything after they committed. (Minus Roc going to Jax state as a favor)

I like this in a way, and in a way, I don't.

I enjoy the drama of the last minute surprises but I would like to see the early work rewarded.

I can just see a set of parents pissed off because little Johnny and his parents signed on a recruiting visit and he is no longer allowed to switch.

They would have to make an escape clause in case coaches are fired

What if he leaves voluntarily? I feel like player should have to stay, but on the flip side, it would encourage coaches who might leave to keep kids from signing early.
