Overall NBA is better IMO
For offense...most of them don't play the other part of the game though.

you very clearly haven't watched much NBA basketball. This is the biggest myth about the NBA, largely perpetuated by people who don't watch the NBA. It's just a buzz phrase people use to say why they don't like it, when it isn't based in fact

Sorry, but I have eyes. I didn't say I don't enjoy it because they're extremely skilled players, but just 5 years ago, only 10 teams averaged 100 points. This year, every team in the NBA but one is averaging 100+ points and the one who isn't is just a basket away per game of averaging 100. Scoring will fluctuate from year to year, but there has been a pretty large difference the last few years.

Playoffs baw, but enjoy both
This.
March Madness is fun but goddamm the basketball and officiating is so awful. The single elimination makes it thrilling.
Only bad thing about the NBA playoffs is the first round is a waste of time and really drags the playoffs out. Everything after the first round is amazing. If they would cut the number of teams that make the playoffs it would be perfect. There is no better professional sporting atmosphere than an NBA playoff game

Teams are getting smaller and playing more up tempo. This is no different than basketball was 20-30 years ago. Do you think college football sucks for the same reason? Are teams not trying on defense now because the games are higher scoring?
Here are league scoring averages through the years. Scoring was at its lowest during the worst stretch of NBA basketball ever

I've never seen a March Madness run that's ever rivaled the 2011 Mavs run. Struggled against the Blazers, swept the defending Champion Lakers looking for a threepeat, beat Westbrook and Durant in the Western Conference Finals, then beat the LeBron Heat super team. Dirk went God Mode and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

March Madness all day, everyday. Haven't watched the NBA playoffs since Jordan took my Bad Boy's down and my favorite of all time Isaiah and Co. left the court early.
The good Ole days.

Again, I never said anything about it sucking. I just feel it lacks on the defensive end when I see 50 wide open 3s attempted per game. The NBA will probably break the scoring record this year and although I think they have greatly-skilled players, I don't think they're breaking the scoring record because it's the best basketball the NBA has ever seen.

Please click on the link in my last post. Scoring is nowhere near record numbers, not even within 5 points per game of what it was 25-30 years ago. And offensive schemes are far far more creative now and players too are more skilled across the board.

I enjoy MM especially if your team is involved. The one game winner-take-all is appealing. There is nothing like watching NBA playoff basketball. The greatest athletes in the world going for a title, the crowds are into it, excitement every night. If the Pelicans would be involved, it makes it even better.

Agreed. The series my team, the Grizzlies, played against the Spurs in the 2011 NBA playofffs is up there with the most exciting sport event(s) I've ever been to.
Our series with the Clippers the following season was incredible as well. No college basketball game I've ever been to comes even close.

They are on track to break the all-time record for points per possession and I read a stat that said approximately 41% of all 3-point-attempts are wide open (and they are on track the have highest 2-point % ever too). The players are extremely talented and there are some better schemes, but the players tend to really put their efforts into the offensive side more from what I can tell and from looking at the stats.

Here is an in depth article that explains what has been going on. It has more to do with the style of play and schematic changes across the league. Team are going smaller and faster and designing offenses around the three point shot. It's not they're not playing defense or giving effort on both sides of the ball. It's actually a good article if you care to take the time to read it. The college game isn't like this simply because they don't have the players to play like that. The players talented enough don't stick around long enough to develop their games enough to get there while still in college. There's 300+ teams with 15 players on each team, with the best players leaving after 1-2 years. What you're left with is a watered down sport with a lot of bad basketball being played. No the NBA isn't without fault, but it is an infinitely better product aesthetically. I can get the argument of liking the amateurism and feeling more connected rooting for your school than a pro franchise, but the people who think the games themselves are better generally has an uninformed inherent bias or flat out has no point of reference to compare college and NBA ball.
