I can't believe I'm going to add onto this troll fest, but 2003 LSU lost at home to Florida.

Since 1998 (start of the BCS) only 4 of the 36 national championship appearing teams lost either their final regular season home game or final postseason game in their home state.

2000 FSU lost the BCS championship game in the Orange Bowl.

2007 Ohio State lost to Illinois in its final home game.

2007 LSU lost its final home game to Arkansas.

2011 LSU lost the BCS Championship in the Sugar Bowl.

What a sad BCS Championship 2007 was. Two teams who lost their final home game to unranked teams.

Of all the things to troll LSU about you chose the time they won a national championship

Alabama lost at home in three of their four titles under Saban.

2011 versus LSU
2012 versus Texas A&M
2015 versus Mississippi

In the OP I limit the criteria to final home game or final postseason game in home state. I couldn't fit all of that into the thread title. I do appreciate your contribution to this serious, substantive discussion.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Why is the 07 LSU football team all up in your head all of a sudden? This is the second thread of you bringing up the 07 championship game.

Speaking of 07, the LSU loss to that juggernaut Kentucky is on SECN.

Had it not been for the bluegrass miracle LSU would have dropped 2 straight at commowealth

Still can't believe a team this pedestrian won the national championship. Easily the worst ever college champion in any sport outside of nc state winning the basketball title in 83. This LSU team was a cotton bowl team any other year. The SEC just sucked so bad this season.

Then the #1 team going into the NC game that year - Ohio State, must have been really pedestrian I guess ???

2007 was a bad year for college football in general for great teams

It was the year for the upset

We really were. Todd Boeckman was not anywhere near a the caliber QB needed for a BCSNC team. We lost to Illinois and were ranked 11th with I believe 2-3 weeks before the selection. Somehow every single team ranked ahead of us lost, pushing us back to #1. Still can't believe how that season ended.

They didn't just lose, Colorado blasted them 62-36. Then Miami just toyed with them in the Rose Bowl.
