Since 1998 (start of the BCS) only 4 of the 36 national championship appearing teams lost either their final regular season home game or final postseason game in their home state.

2000 FSU lost the BCS championship game in the Orange Bowl.

2007 Ohio State lost to Illinois in its final home game.

2007 LSU lost its final home game to Arkansas.

2011 LSU lost the BCS Championship in the Sugar Bowl.

What a sad BCS Championship 2007 was. Two teams who lost their final home game to unranked teams.

2007 was amazing because it just showed how irrelevant Arkansas is.

2007 was foreshadowing for how much trouble Miles would always have with Arkansas.

And how little it would matter, too.
