Obviously Aggy won the conference realignment national championship and OU can’t get over it, so does any of this really matter to the Rant?

Oklahoma may win out, who knows. The only problem now is the same problem Oklahoma State had in 2011 when they lost to Iowa State: your stupid conference insists on continuing without a conference championship game. This, coupled with the (accurate) perception that the Big 12 has been weak by P5 standards for years now hurts your chances. Since every other conference has that final game against a (generally) ranked opponent, the conference winners of the other P5 programs are going to have an extra win, more quality wins, and pass the eye test. A Big 12 team has been represented in the playoffs one time since it began in 2014, and that's because Pac-12 winner Stanford had two losses going into Bowl season.
In other words, you need to finish the season with one fewer loss than the top team in at least one of the other P5 conferences. 11–1 Baylor and 11–1 TCU both got snubbed in 2014 for teams that were 12–1 or 13–0. Your conference also missed its chance last year when everyone in the Big 12 had two losses to put up against a one-loss Ohio State. It would have been far more palatable to have thrown Oklahoma or Oklahoma State in the playoffs over Ohio State since they didn't win their conference and two-loss Penn State was obviously not getting in over a team with a single loss, but no one in your conference was dominant enough to take advantage.
Don't worry, though. Texas, your conference's Supreme Overlords, will put their foot down and get a conference championship as soon as they're the ones getting snubbed. Especially if they're 11–1 and lose their rightful playoff spot to a non-franchise team on an unexpected rise. The only other option will be to bolt for the SEC or Pac-12, since being independent like Notre Dame will put them in the same situation. And the SEC/Pac-12 are most likely not going to be interested in Texas and their bitch arse Longhorn Network and backwards entitlement.
TLDR; Get a conference championship game or kick out Iowa State and this won't keep happening.

They have a championship game now. It probably won't save Oklahoma or Oklahoma State though

Didn't read but Iowa State is a BAAADDDD loss. BAD.
If Oklahoma actually DID win out, and got into the CFP playoff it'd PROVE that the committee still mainly cares about the legacy school and not the best teams getting in.
As far as I care, they're out now due to that Iowa State loss. End of story.

Historically speaking the national champion has a loss around 50% of the time.
However the loss is usually to a good opponent by a close margin.
Very few, if any, national champs have ever lost as a 30 point favorite.

Actually the 2003 LSU teams loss to Florida was at home.
And the 2007 loss to Kentucky was at Kentucky.

Your team's defense is too shitty to win a National Title.

I apparently missed the memo
When was it decided? It had to have been in the past few months.
Doesn't change the fact that it's what screwed them in '11 and at least once in the CFP.

I fixed it. It was the 2006 Florida team whose only loss was on the road.
