All good here. I live 35 miles south of town. Slept through it all and woke up to a flood of texts.

Was there any warning? We got a little wind here in East Tennessee but nothing like that.

I don't know about Farragut but I'm just NE of Knoxville and we got an insane storm around 5 AM. Nothing touched down but I remember thinking it was ripe for a tornado and that was before all hell broke loose. At the time, I didn't know they had already happened in Nashville and Cookeville. I think East, TN dodged a bigger bullet than we might realize (thank God).

Everyone is talking about Nashville but Cookeville is just shredded. They aren't a very big town and I'm afraid they're going to get forgotten in all this despite suffering the worst of this.

Didn't get the usual warning this time. The meteorologist that I spoke to said it was like the rain enveloped the nasty stuff, so the radar didn't show it to be as severe as it was. The path was fairly tight in Nashville but it broadened and did some major damage in Mt Juliet and East of there.

When he said "all hands on deck" that means ALL hands are available in an emergency

This makes sense. But he said he was on call and I've worked around hospitals for years and never heard the admins talk about taking call on a normal rotation. Doctors yes, but the admin doing it is new to me.

Is there some good reason you’re being a dick about this?

Why are you being a pussy? I simply asked him a question and then followed up with a comment. I knew doctors took call on a regular rotation, but had never heard the admins in a hospital talk about taking regular call, so I was curious if this is something that happens everywhere..that's it. So stop trying to protect your thread like you own it!

You were clearly trying to have a “gotcha” moment in a thread not meant for trolling BS.

Go seek your attention elsewhere.

He really was hoping to come riding in here busting some poor guy out for helping with what happened. Honestly, it wouldn’t matter if the guy was an administrator he was making an effort to help.

Imagine is someone went questioning him whether he was “actually” helping during Katrina. He’d want the whole thread banned.

Some of you are really jaded and hyper sensitive. All he did was a ask a couple of questions, didn’t imply anything.

Nah. He’s a bitch and got rightfully called out. Auburn clearly explained why he was there and what was going on and homeboy was all “Well, I’ve never heard of that.”. Maybe get out of Louisiana some more.

You’re reading a lot into two innocent questions. Keep attacking him if it makes you feel better I guess

Hospitals are 24/7 operations, just like a a lot of Wal Marts, Utility companies and other businesses. Somebody from management is always on call in case something unusual comes up out of the norm that the staff doesn't know how to handle or doesn't have the authority to handle. We don't talk about it, and honestly, we don't get called that much. You just have to be available and within 30 minutes of the hospital at all times during your week. I have done this for over 30 years in 4 different hospitals.

This all makes perfect sense. I've recruited doctors to hospitals for 20 years and go onsite with each search. Call for the admins has never been mentioned (doctors of course it does), so I was just curious. Not trying to demean your actions or anything, I was just curious.

Go take a midol and get the sand out of your vagina. Just because you have no clue what's going on, doesn't mean you need to be a pussy!
