Figured we could get a check in with our Nashville Ranters to make sure they’re ok and if they need any help after last night’s tornados.

My family and I are fine. I can see some of the damage from the top floor of my building downtown. It's really terrible. Anything that anyone can donate, money or supplies, will be most welcome.

It started West of downtown, a little past TSU. It didn't stay on the ground for any super long stretches, but it mostly tracked north of downtown. If you look on a map, chunks of Germantown and Five Points are leveled.

More than one tornado. Nashville and further east near Cookeville were hit hard. Small town of Baxter was hit bad and the interstate was closed. I have been at the hospital since 3 am. We had over 40 victims including small kids.

Scary stuff. I live just south of downtown, but slept thru the whole thing last night. A lot of damage in the Germantown and East Nashville area. At least 40-50 buildings are ruined, many being small business.

Germantown, East Nashville, Donelson, and Mt. Juliet got hit hardest in Middle, TN to my knowledge. My high school, Donelson Christian Academy, where my little brother now goes has been destroyed. Hoping to get out of work early today to lend a helping hand. I live in the Gulch which isn't that far from Germantown and slept like a rock through it all, only to wake up to the terrible pictures. If there is one thing about this community, we will come together the same way we did for the 2010 Flood. Nashville will be rebuilt in no time.

Germantown is neighborhood that is "walkable" from Broadway. Especially the area that got hit the hardest which is around the Sounds Stadium. Lots of places were leveled right there.

Was there any warning? We got a little wind here in East Tennessee but nothing like that.

Yeah, there were several bands that come through last night, the first warnings coming around 7:30 last night. I'm not sure people were prepared for just how bad at got but there was ample notice bad storms were headed that way with the chances of tornadoes. Fortunately my wife and I live south of where all the tornadoes hit, and even more fortunate none of my friends who live right by where they touched down in East Nashville were personally affected. Really scary stuff. Donelson Christian Academy was flattened, a pretty popular music venue and small airport was destroyed, among countless other buildings. The affected area looks like a war zone.

Damn hate to hear all of that but at least you guys are safe.
Reason I asked about the warning was local weather here in Knoxville usually says if a strong to severe front is coming through middle or east Tennessee.
And last night nothing was mentioned.

Live in Brentwood, south of Nashville. Germantown ( near downtown ), Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and East Nashville hit hard.

I think the sirens went off with about 15 minutes notice for the band that did all the damage around 3:00 AM. Scariest part is that it was in the middle of the night and I'm sure plenty of people slept through everything. But at the same time, I couldn't imagine the horror if that tornado had hit during the day while those kids were in school.

We live out in Bellevue and I woke up at ~4 to 100+ notifications. Would’ve been an unspeakable tragedy if it touched down 8 hours later
