We didn't get the choice of opponent. Stafford won a Sugar Bowl. That's something.

We didn't get the choice of opponent either. You can't have it both ways.

He throws for a lot of yards, but he also thows a lot interceptions. His quarterback rating is not very good

Stafford really isn't that great anyway. The fans in Detroit were booing him at the end of last year

Yeah, anyone can throw for 5000 yards season after season

I just read back through the thread. You're going to have to point out where anybody downplayed UF's Sugar Bowl win. I can't find it.

I did notice you downplaying UGA's 2002 SEC Championship

You can if you lead the league in pass attempts, and I believe Stafford has done that a couple of times. He also has 73 interception in basically 4 years, and he has never finished a full season with fewer than 16 interceptions. That is a lot of interceptions

You should apply the same logic from your "attempts lead to more yards" logic to his interception totals. He also throws a lot of touchdowns, which makes sense using the same logic.

Bart Starr is the only answer. He was on terrible teams in the mid-1950s at Alabama. He rode the bench his senior season of 1957. He was drafted in the later rounds of the NFL and ended up starting the Packers dynasty.
