So far, Vanderbilt. But that could change any moment now.

The only reason Mason may be keeping his job is because there are so many other coaching gigs open right now and Vandy's AD doesn't want to compete with SC, Mizzou and UGA for a good coach.

Vandy's not going to fire Mason. Next year yeah maybe but VU won 2 SEC games after 0 last year and was a razor margin from being at 6 wins and in a bowl. Long term is he the answer, probably not but if they didn't make a change after last season they sure are not going to a after this one.

I thought Holgorsen would be gone, but it looks like he'll get another year.

USC. They should have had their pick of the litter. Held on to the status quo, another inside guy like Kiffin and Sark

True. I think in this day and time you will see coaches get three years before they are canned, unless something goes really wrong.

Now, if Mason were to get canned after next year, and Richt takes a year off from coaching, how would he do at Vandy? May depend on his staff, but he should be able to recruit at least as well as Franklin did. Granted Franklin had the luxury of coaching during a major downward slide by UTenn, but could Richt make Vandy respectable?

Auburn. They are usually quick on the trigger.

I don't see Richt ever opting for a job like VU at this point in his career. There were strong discussions of dismissing Mason after last season but the close game vs UT and the staff changes he made gave him another shot (that and the fact that firing a coach after 1 year at a place like VU is almost impossible). With what's coming back on defense, a settled situation at QB, a top 5 SEC RB next season, both starting OTs back after suffering season ending injuries & the nation's #1 punter committed to sure up special teams there's no excuse not to win 6 next season.

If it's not going to happen in year 3 its not going to happen.
