Meh, I liked South Carolina all throughout the pre-season schedule. That's a fact.

I think they're decent, but not great. And yes, their conference schedule is very favorable. I expect them to win 12 games at this point. If they don't, it will be a big disappointment.

But I know that no one is allowed to have that opinion about them, so carry on.

You really need to figure out how these "loses" things work. If you get enough of them...

Georgia, Ole Miss, and LSU all had 10+ losses going into Selection Sunday last year. And none had an SOS better than 44. Ours is going to be Top 10.

Guess what? Those teams made it into the dance.

If we're 21-12 going into the dance with an RPI around 26 and an SOS in the Top 10... We'll make the dance. We'd probably be an #8 or #9 seed.

You should worry about getting to 25 wins, because that's probably what USC needs to do to secure a tourney bid. You could get in with 24, but you'd be sweating it. 23 or less and it's NIT time.

That's why you play a tough schedule. Even if you're mediocre (which I fully admit we are), as long as you eek out 20 or so wins, you'll have a chance. Play a shite schedule, and you'll win more games, but you're setting a way higher bar for yourself as well.

Y'all are a lot closer to the 12 then the 21 right now.

Are y'all going to be able to win 21 games?

Depends on the road games. Win at least 2 out of the last 5 road games, and UF is probably in.

I don't see UF losing at home again this season.

EDIT: Losing another SEC home game that is. WVU is a damn good team.

If we don't shoot the ball better I don't care if we get into the tourney. SoCar is an experienced team and Martin has them playing hard in every game. They are having a great season, and yes they do have a favorable schedule but you still have to win the games, which they are doing. Congrat's to them. Still a ways to go, but they are playing their way to a 3-4 seed unless the get derailed terrible.

I've been busting your chops???

Hmmm. Sensitive bunch. This thread is exhibit A of that.

Anyway, good luck the rest of the way.

Your go to response is to always call the other person sensitive.

In this case it's accurate and that's not always my go to.

Anyway, this response thread (not sure what he's responding to) is clearly the result of being overly sensitive or "butthurt".

No one hates USC. I certainly don't. Just giving your trolls a bit of grief that they deserve.

Why do they deserve such "grief"?

UF had been shooting 48% from 3 in its last 5 games before the crapfest last night.

We've always played bad at Vandy. Not too worried about it.

Edit: Also don't forget, Vandy was a preseason top 10 team. It's not like UF lost to a of scrubs.

Vandy has not played up to its potential, but they've been playing better lately save for the bad loss at UK.

It's not a lot of grief mind you but trolls always deserve grief.

Wasn't able to watch the UF game last night but I just noticed that VU had 33 FT attempts to UFs 10.

That was an ugly, ugly game last night. Vandy tried to give it away and barely hung on.

I know and I like the direction of the team, but we are still statistically the worst shooting team in the conference. Last night's game was about exactly as I expected. Pretty even with the exception of them shooting 23 more free throws and us not being able to shoot a decent % in their bldg.

Big game on Saturday that would be a huge boost to our tourney chances if we can get a W.

Much bigger win for Vandy than it was a loss for UF. Vandy desperately needs to at least split the next two (@Texas & Texas A&M) winning both would dramatically change the outlook of the season but there's no way I expect that from this team at this point.

I hope I am wrong, but nobody in the SEC is any good this year. I would not be surprised if we only got 3-4 teams in the tournament. I would also not be surprised if we get swept in the SEC-Big-12 challenge.

If we are pinning our hopes of getting more teams in on Florida, that program has a new coach and no idea who they are right now. They have some great effort and then no effort games. Up and down. I think they eventually get tired and start losing several in a row and play themselves out of it.

South Carolina is fools gold.
LSU is not living up to their potential and I don't see it changing.
Kentucky is barely Kentucky this year.
ATM is good, but not a top 10 team IMO.
Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St, UGA, and Tenn are nowhere near what they usually are.
Auburn is a pretender. They got absolutely destroyed by Florida last week. That they can beat teams like Kentucky just shows you how bad the conference has become.
The only reason people are happy about Alabama is that they have been so bad for so long, any glimmer of life is celebrated like the King's feast.

The SEC just plain sux.

So, when is baseball season?

Like I said, I hope I am wrong, but the SEC seems to be in trouble when it comes to basketball.

Why are we fools gold? And A&M has definitely earned their ranking.

Not part of the challenge but A&M is 3-0 vs the Big 12.

The SEC is probably the 6th best conference in the country this season, regardless of what the conference RPI rankings say.
