A whole lot of people are dogging Mett like he sucked last year or something. His shortcomings were mainly from the lack of O-line consistency and WR drops. To act like he can't be a great QB is just plain stupid. I think he showed what he was capable of last season vs Bama.

Heck, against LSU's schedule so far, *I* would look like a Heisman candidate.

Mett is certainly better than last year in terms of confidence and poise. The fact is, these gumps and aggies are correct in that we have yet to be tested. There are issues on the defense and I'm not certain Mett wouldn't have a few picks with some of the balls he's thrown had those 3 opponents been SEC. Certainly a step up this weekend and a huge test with UGA (who I think wins the SEC this year). Dunno, we'll see about LSU, but we're all really happy to see some resemblance of an offense this year.
Their narrative will not change after LSU walks into Athens and out-executes UGA right out of the stadium. Mark my words.

Didn't your fanbase just nickname a certain DB for your school "Vinnie Badger"

I'm pretty sure JJ threw for under 100 yards against FCS opponents.

Well I wonder why we always struggled against lesser competition with him under center.....
You can downplay the schedule so far all you want but this isn't the first year that we've played a weak pre-SEC schedule.
Yet it is the first time that an LSU qb has thrown for 9 Tds in the first three games....... Ever.

It would be better than Alabama, but still gross.

I don't doubt that it happens. Mett looks way more confident and composed than he did last season. He supposedly has his head buried in the playbook all the time.

Doesn't mean that there's not a playboy hiding between the pages though

Thanks for the words, but I don't think the Georgia defense will test you. You will find out how good your defense is....but your offense will remain a mystery. Our defense is that inexperienced. It will get better, but not enough before we play you. IF we are fortunate enough to win, it will have to be because we outscore you.

Why can't we get a hostess to give him a blowie while he studies? #decline

All true. But for LSU to win the SEC, they'll definitely have to have a couple bounces go their way. I think there will be a lot of pressure on Mett to win a couple of these games down the stretch given some of the issues on defense - Georgia, A&M, Alabama, and even Ole Miss..... that's a lot to get through without slipping up.

He definitely has the physical skills. With your first three opponents his confidence should be soaring. If he comes out with a big game against Auburn (and he should) you should be primed and ready to go by the time you get to Georgia. Should be a good game.

We gotta Mettsiah, Juice, Freak, and Pappa Loston.

Good! I know he has had his troubles. Maybe he got a wake up call at Georgia. Always a good thing when a kid gets straightened out and does good....as long as he does good AFTER the Georgia game!
