Not trying to stir shite here but why is Jon Gruden considered to be an elite coach? I've heard enough of his arse on MNF so I will be ecstatic when he leaves, but that being said he seems like a total clown in the broadcast booth. Maybe he's much better at coaching.

Totally agree...he is like the default name that people scream out at the first mention of a coaching change and yet it seems like this has been going on for 5 years or more.
If he is so great why the hell has someone not picked him up somewhere? Dirty f'n Meyer spent like 9 hours in his new broadcast career before going back to coaching. Not saying Meyer is an elite coach, but it is obviously in his blood like most coaches so what the hell is holding Gruden back?

I think it's that he was the youngest head coach to win a super bowl. good personality for recruiting.
