Ok, so how are we the most racist school in the SEC and the most liberal school in the SEC? Those might not be your words but Im guessing you feel this way.

And Im not talking politics, Im talking actions. For instance, when you wear slacks and a button down shirt, tailgate in the grove snacking on little tidbits on china, then after the game go out to eat at a nice restaurant, that is being conservative. But wearing pimp suits to games, boiling crawfish, having rap DJ's, getting to drunk to stand, being obnoxious, throwing piss balloons isnt conservative. Now I konw this doesnt fit everyone LSU fan but its acceptable at your school, and not at ours, which makes ours more conservative.

quote:

Walmart food under chandeliers is hardly "high class",

but boiling crawfish in a field is? I mean its hard to make tailgaiting classy and I think OM is the best at doing that.

quote:

And yes y'all are snobs, but it's y'alls mentality that is annoying (hence the high society comment).

for the most part, on this board, its a joke. The whole we're better than you shite is just playing to yalls stereotype of us. But honestly if you went to OM and visited LSU and walked through this..... LINK
its hard to not think youre better

and why do I have to pour a beer in a cup under a table so no cops see it, yet can drink bourbon from the bottle? Dumb

BC it's on campus. Across the road at the baseball field(city), you can drink beer but not liquor
Wierd rules. FWIW, most tents I go to usually have good food that people bring. I guess just a couple people bringing bought pre-cooked food stereotypes it for everyone...

where did the whole Wal-Mart chicken thing come from?

its just a stereotype that we all seem to fit under. I dont know either. I mean some bring the colonels chicken to the grove

And this whole gotta hide the beer is bullshite. I've poored a beer infront of a cop into a cup before and he didnt care, just as long as its in a cup. Now you have to go safety measures like locking your cooler if you leave and keeping it in a cup but its not really that big a deal.

I like Beam for the most part. He's objective and isnt trolling OM. He's just giving his opinion and actually explaining it instead of just saying i think this and thats it. Not many LSU posters like this.

Never do this and it's never poured out. I think that was when they first implemented it that they were enforcing it...

I guess I meant politically, and I don't think y'all are the most racist at all. Probably one of the least actually. And politically speaking, y'all are certainly more conservative than liberal, but not as conservative as LSU, Bama, AU, etc...

If dressing nice is conservative to you, then sure. I don't know how many "nice" restaurants there are in Oxford though

Of course boiling crawfish isn't "classy", who said it was? No tailgate at LSU is worried about trying to be classy - they are at Ole Miss though, and while some have limited success, a lot of them are just boring (and very unfriendly to visiting guests)

Obviously LSU has the most drunken idiots on gameday as anyone (I've been 1 myself on multiple occasions
)

Oh well, to each his own I've never been fricked with badly at an Ole Miss tailgate, and I doubt the OP will have any problems in BR

this was kind of an ignorant statement. But off the top of my head there are at least 8 "nice" restaurants just on the square. And when I say "nice" Im meaning Filet, Lobster, etc joints that you cant get out of without spending over $140 for two.

You could be right, I've never been caught so I can't say - this is just what I was warned about by Ole Miss people. Ole Miss is my 2nd favorite tailgating of the year - I do enjoy being able to walk through a large crowded area without Yung Joc (or insert any name) being blared in my ears and can't hear anyone around me.

Besides y'alls bars shutting down so damn early, it's a fun town

Has saved me from puking thousands of times
Then again, I don't have enough fingers or toes to count how many times I have spewed walking out of the bar

This 1000000000 times. Oxford has a lot of potential to be a great town, but there are several things wrong with it, this being one. And why do the bars close at 12 on saturday? Because we're the most conservative school in the SEC. No alcohol on the lords day, nice example

Yeah this might have actually been a good thing back in undergrad

Is it true the cops walk around preying on anyone who half-way stumbles out of a bar with an $800 drunk in public ticket? My wife is an Ole Miss chick, maybe she has just been trying to scare me with these drinking horror stories so I won't get out of control. That's what she gets for marrying a Catholic Irish guy from Louisiana though

Now I have to admit something. I'm not sure whether or not to wear my colors. Part of me says this is unacceptable cowardice but part of me says I won't be able to enjoy the experience if I am being harassed.

Can I call myself a true fan if I don't sport the red and have beer thrown at me? But I'll have family with me, and if this happens, I absolutely have to fight and then proceed to jail. Then there's others riding with me who won't have a way home to MS. So I have to consider them.

The intelligent thing is simply to wear gray. The noble thing is to wear the colors true and proud.

Right now I'm leaning towards a gray long sleeve that's warm and shows off my chest and arms (I am a magnificent specimen I must say) but with a blue Ole Miss skull cap. My brother will be with me as well- he's a burly looking guy who most people would rather not mess with. The the other 3 people are LSU friends/family.

What say you? Rebs, I'd like your opinion especially.

I'll personally move your car if you need me to?
