But the quarterback is still a major question, and due to the way they run their offense, I like LSU to control most of their games this year with an overpowering running game. But what happens if they get behind to a team? I don't see them having the passing game to come back in games the way Bama almost did. Major concern against Bama/OM/TAMU.

I understand this opinion as it is shared by many outside the LSU sphere. I have one word for you - Myth.

LSU hasn't thrown the ball enough yet for you to say that. You're just basing your opinion off of the past which is valid.

But is it?

ESPN Total QBR

In reality, obviously it's still a question mark, but not as big of a difference as people make it out to be compared to a guy like Chad Kelly also being a question mark for Ole Miss. While Harris simply hasnt had to throw it much, Kelly also has very little experience and hasnt seen an elite secondary yet. Alabama's secondary play the last 2 seasons has been subpar to say the least. I will be waiting to form a real opinion on Kelly until we see how he does against LSU/UF...on the flipside, obviously we're all waiting to see what Brandon Harris looks like when he throws the ball 30+ times.

Not only that, the Ole Miss D looked tired way too early against Bama.

Yes, no way LSU abandon the run and let them off the hook.

Harris' completion percentage is 67.7%. He's executing plays well, has converted some 3rd and longs with his both his arm and feet, and has made NO interceptions. I'll take it.

It's gonna be incredibly fun or incredibly brutal to watch. I'll take a bet on fun if you want some

Ole Miss didn't get any points as a result of turnovers. The points were a result of scoring on your defense at will.

Quit making excuses. You got beat, in your own house, at night, in a revenge game.

Your players and your coaching staff lost the frigging game.

Here is the list of top 25 teams whose AVERAGE passing yardage PER GAME has been outstripped by LSU's TOTAL passing yardage

17. Northwestern
20. Georgia Tech

We've thrown the football 31 times in 2 games and not much at all downfield. So what?

it doesn't concern you that the entire rest of college football functions schematically differently than you?

do you seriously think LSU knows something the rest of college football doesn't?

Don't all coaches say that preparing for something unique is the biggest challenge in football? Isn't doing something no one else does a tremendous advantage?

That being said, they still will need to be able to execute passing plays, but running an I when no one is preparing for it is a good idea. Same as running the wildcat/single-wing was a few years ago when no one was scheming it.

It's 2 games into the year. We're not going to throw the football 15 times a game. We've never done that under Miles, you're overreacting. We didn't NEED to throw the football when you're running for over 400 yards on someone.

Well apparently Miles knows what he's doing so far this year. 2-0, 2-0 in the SEC. I'd say it worked thus far. Not many teams in CFB left run a power running scheme, which makes us pretty unique, and a team that still wins a lot of games last I checked.

You have to play the easy games the way you will have to play the hard games or you won't know how to do it. LSU is not going to win a national title again if they don't start throwing more than 15 times a game.

Hopefully not the same thing that happens when Ole Miss tries to put away a game with their rushing offense.

We're not going to throw it 30 times just to throw it 30 times for no reason. We have a heisman contending RB with an elite OL, would be stupid not to ride that as much as possible.

This would be like me telling you Ole Miss should start running the ball a lot more or when the time comes you wont know how to do it if the pass game gets shut down.

You do what you do offensively until you have to change otherwise...generally you want to play to your offensive strengths. I have little doubt Harris is a capable QB and will get the throws necessary to get him ready for the meaty part of the schedule. So far, he's done what was needed to win the 2 games we've played though.

Keep in mind there's the whole flipside argument to your argument. LSU has 3 players in the Top 20 of the SEC in rushing yards per game. Ole Miss has 0, so tread lightly.
