Is Jack Daniel's a bourbon?
Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey

ETA: They could call it bourbon but choose not to:
quote:
Although the product generally meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon, the company disavows this classification and markets it simply as Tennessee whiskey rather than as Tennessee bourbon

Well, this thread developed nicely. Gentlemen drink whiskey and show mutual respect. Children drink whatever alcohol is available and measure their peckers by their football team.
Screw you. My pecker is longer than the bottle of Bartles and Jaymes I just discovered in the back of my fridge while desperately searching for some booze. It's tasty and reminds me of the time we beat UGA, UF, and UT all in the same season.

Bourbon was named for the County it was made in - ironically a dry County - when KY had only a handful of Counties. Now KY has over 120 but in spirit the distilled spirits inside the state line come from just a small portion of the state.
Here is an old County map from the 1700's
As you can see, it is neither close to Tennessee (Jack Daniels) or Texas (where that other stuff is made)

Objection, relevance.
Move for summary judgment/directed verdict, as there is no genuine issue of material fact as to the characterization of bourbon under the United States Code.

It is an A&M tradition. Seattle hijacked it. They should give credit to A&M when referencing it. Pretty lame of them.

They already pay royalties.

Setting noise records and demolishing the competition with smothering defense is "pretty lame"?
If we were talking about the Saints, you'd be heaping tons of praise on them.
I'm a little bitter about what Seattle did to my Saints but I don't think I'd call anything they've done this year "pretty lame".

Their play on the field hasn't been lame. Start your own tradition, don't hijack someone else's. And they set noise records because of the design of the stadium, not necessarily because their fans are louder.

They made so much noise in their previous stadium, the Kingdome, that the NFL passed a noise rule in the 80s.
quote:
But as the 1980s wore on and opposing teams got tired of trying to shout above the din of the Kingdome's deafening denizens, NFL owners actually voted to shut up the fans. The 1989 rule covered the entire league, but everyone knew it was aimed mostly at the Seahawks, their 12th Man and the Kingdome.
Knox was incensed by the rule, accusing owners of trying to "take away our fans' right to participate in the game."
Are you saying the Kingdome had superior acoustics to the Superdome or any other dome used in the NFL today?

As for A&M's tradition, the 12th man kickoff return team was pretty cool. Seattle has done their own thing with it and they pay A&M royalties. I don't see the problem here.
