JC Shurburtt saying now that it comes down to whether or not Carolina is offering the HCIW title. If they are, Muschamp is likely coming to Carolina. If not, Auburn. They can't confirm yet that HCIW is being offered, he said everyone is keeping their mouth shut right now.

Who would be unhappy about Muschamp being their DC?

I guess he would be one. His family probably wouldn't like that either. I guess that is where he is getting the "some people".

Everyone would be happy with the DC tag, it's the HCIW tag that would make some uncomfortable. JC's recent post on 247 makes sense now. If we officially offer him the HCIW tag, JC thinks Muschamp comes to SC. It would be that whole bird in hand type of thing. He would be guaranteed a SEC HC job (probably 2-3 years.) If he goes somewhere else, he'll have to gamble that one will come open that he can get.

At least, that's my interpretation.

So IF he came to SC, he would:
-have control of the defense now.
-be building that defense and team for the years he's the Asst HC
-focused on building that team for his HC term as well.

This would also offer an excellent continuation plan for recruiting the next 2-3 years. The only way this deal bombs out IF he takes it, would be for him to come to SC and make the defense worse. That would be hard to do, we were awful this year, but we have great recruits coming and youth on defense was a big problem this year. I think Boom can fix that, and burn our 3-4 with fire.

There are some people on there who claim to be in the know, at least 1 of them might be based on the post history review I did on him. Although, he never said Muschamp, but he did say that a deal had been made in principle and that some were happy, and some won't be.

Something's definitely going on. I hope it's Muschamp.

Yep. Plus he could keep his family in the same place for 5-7 years.

Exactly. Also, SC can offer that HCIW tag b/c our coach is almost 70. Auburn can't offer that b/c Gus is young for a SEC HC. He could be there 20 years if they do well. Muschamp would most likely be looking for a new HC job in 2-4 years after being at auburn, but who knows what jobs open up and if he'd get them.

Muschamp is going to S. Carolina it's a done deal. He said he can't wait to shove it up ole Dabo's arse every year in the S. Carolina bowl. Boom will also take over after Spurrier is done and continue shoving the football up Dabo's arse for years to come.

Is an alpha male like Spurrier really going to allow an "Asst HC" ?

USCe would be retarded to make that offer, quite honestly.

No, because he just failed at Florida in the same fricking conference division with better talent.

Ellis Johnson held that title when he was at SC.

He failed offensively. He could have won the conference with the defenses he built. There is also some thug culture that has yet to be wiped out from the urban days at UF. Overall he is a good coach and damn good defensive coordinator. With the right setup he can be very successful as a coach.

Already happened. Ellis told Spurrier he wanted to try being a HC again in '10, so in '11 he made Ellis the Asst HC and Whammy the DC. Then Ellis got the HC job at SoMiss

Otherwise known as failing.

Let me know when there is a SEC Defense Championship game.

Not going to argue there, but he had his recruits in there, too.

Well, I get that you're hopeful, but I doubt the higher-ups at USC feel that way.
