He's a good coach for a school like MTSU.

Did everyone just forget his stops before MTSU?
well he made the NCAAT two straight years with freaking Idaho. Yes, he had a very bad season his one year at A&M. But truth be told, if LSU is going to mid-major route, I'd rather them make a run at Steve Forbes at ETSU

So you watched 2 minutes of an MTSU game and immediately think he should be an SEC head coach?
You don't know how much or little I watch, or what I know or don't know. Go frick yourself.

watched a bit of that game last night and that's a good-looking basketball team
You based your opinion off of watching a little bit of their game and looking up their record. So, yeah, I think I have a pretty good idea.

It took him 10 years? To crack the 20 win mark at MTSU. He's made to be a mid major coach

Haven't heard much about him in the context of other teams looking at him for their head coaching position.
You are presuming that, in addition to the time I spent watching them last night, I didn't already know have knowledge about how good they are. I was in Murphreesboro 3 weeks ago. I do business with colleges all across the country.
I was asking others opinions of the coach as it relates to the potential of hiring him at another program, and instead of having an intelligent take, you started talking shite like a punk motherfricker. So no, you don't know shite about me.

This is what a lot of people overlook about Kermit.
Why was he so average his first decade there then suddenly is making the NCAAT every other year since then. Something obviously changed, and would that carry over to better more demanding job? He wouldn't get 10 or even 5 years to get a program like LSU turned around.

Says who? The Rant? Davis says they want and are building the new "Butler". Looks to me like that is happening, why leave for a gig that has passed you over twice now
He has been at middle for fricking 15 years and it took him 10 years just to have a 20 win season.
He is 57 years old already
He would come in a heartbeat
Building the new Butler. Holy shite

as a lifelong LSU fan but MTSU alum, I hope Alleva fricks this one up. But if he left for anywhere, let it be LSU I guess.

I don't think he ever beat Mike White. Some different players, of course.

- No current, or prior demand of him considering he has been at MTSU for a while now. Makes you wonder why that has been the case.
I can guarantee you there is and will be plenty of demand for him.
I can tell you exactly what the case is. Kermit was at Middle in 2002 and since we do not have any expectations for basketball, he kept the job based on always being in the mix, without any high level success. until 2011. Since 2011 he has been fantastic in recruiting and developing. Once MT moved from the Sunbelt to CUSA, the rest was history. That move gave a good coach enough edge to get the right players.
Pay attention to his hybrid defense. They will be in what looks like man, but is actually a stretch zone. Next trip down the floow, 1-3-1 trap. Then man. Then back to zone. His philosophy on defense is confusing as shite to watch, which is good.
Last year MT was a run-and-gun team scoring tons of points in transition. Put 90 on Mich St. This year year, a much more methodical approach. He's a fantastic in-game coach. basically the opposite of Jones in that regard.

I don't know about the coach at MTSU, but if Tennessee has to make a hire in the next few years I hope they go after Forbes at ETSU. I'm just worried the someone else will hire him before the Tennessee job is open.

Forbes is a stud and I'd be pumped for LSU to have him. I don't think our fans would receive that hire very well though.

He is not going anywhere. The guy loves Middle Tennessee. The university and the region. It's his home and he has it made at MTSU. And what makes you think that any coach "would definitely" take the LSU job? It's a shite program in a shite city.

well, I believe his salary is 500k at MTSU. LSU is not historically a shite program. More mlike middle of the pack with some solid peaks. I lived in Murfreesboro for years, and it's certainly not Nashville.

I don't think his success at MTSU would translate to success at the SEC level, so, as an Aggie fan, I sincerely hope someone in the SEC does hire him--we need all the help we can get.
Not sure it makes sense to look at one year 27 years ago. He has had a lot of success since then that includes using his resources over the last two years to beat tournament level teams like Michigan State, Vanderbilt, UNC Wilmington, Belmont, and Minnesota and non-tournament power 5 schools like Auburn and Ole Miss.

Has Kermit managed to air brush out completely his one year stint as head coach at A&M way back in 1990?
lol
I'd like to think someone would be much better at their job at age 57 than they were at 31. This is a ridiculous post, especially considering what he has accomplished at MTSU.

Can't speak for the guy who said that, but I witnessed in person Davis destroy an tournament team from the SEC in Vanderbilt by 25 in December. And the game wasn't that close. He coached circles around Drew.
