State could have beaten the ND team that played in the national title game in 2013.

We shall see how good 2014 MSU is but if they live up to prowess with their solid front 7 and Dak making some plays then that would have equated to the 2012 ND team. You should have read the scouting report I did 3 weeks before the NCG predicting Alabama would skull frick the irish. When watching their games I could see all of the holes on defense and I knew our CBs would tie down the irish attack making them 1 dimensional with the run and that AJ would have a field day with their shitty secondary. Once that run picked up and we gashed them from both sides it was going to be an arse whooping. Ended up being one of the easiest defenses we played all year, with Nix being the only really stand out player.

MSU isn't a big enough opponent.

If ND plays an SEC team it will be Bama or LSU...whether they got slaughtered or not...it's $$$ and national TV audience on Prime Time.

My bad... South Alabama
either way...Miss State traveling to one of Alabama's not premiere schools is shameful.

Ms state should give themselves the death penalty for that nonsense.

What's even worse is the best team in nation playing Chattanooga...We're Mississippi State, we are meant to play shitty teams to make bowl games. You're Alabama, you play for national championships, not bowl games.

When ND says they want an SEC game, they are not thinking Mississippi State.

I'm sure they want to play teams that win their bowl games tho.....

Sorry MSU, but with the 5 game ACC agreement and the locked-in games with USC, Stanford, and Navy, that only leaves four slots a year. With Texas, Michigan State, and BYU on the upcoming schedules, you ain't getting a slot. We want a name and a big game.

Soooooo ND is now a rent-a-win. Got it! State beat UGA the second to last time we played. Doubt that win will ever happen for the Irish

Beating ND on national tv would be a boost for State. Losing to a 3rd tier SEC team would be very bad for ND and Kelly.

Pressure would be with the Irish.

Why do you keep looking at this from the perspective of "how good you are on the field" or "who you beat?"

Boise State beat a shite ton of teams and was good the last 10 years...

Notre Dame isn't scheduling Boise St.

Because people don't realize that mighty Notre Dame with all its elite ways and prestige came to lowly Itta Bena fricking Mississippi to play Mississippi Valley in baseball in the last 10 years. So ND went somewhere to play that even Mississippi State is too good to go

ND has NO reason to play MS State

It would be considered as one of those infamous "trap games"; a game that the Irish SHOULD win and would be expected to win, but one that they could lose.

There is NO upside to beating 'Sippi State (or Ole Miss either), but the downside is tremendous.

UGA on the other hand is a perfect matchup for the Irish. The game would likely be considered a tossup, and win or lose, the Irish look good for scheduling and playing the games.

The ONLY downside possible would be a blowout loss, which is highly unlikely.

The Irish already have inroads into Georgia with their ACC tie in. They will play GA Tech in Atlanta; my guess is that it will be sooner than later. ND & GT have a history.

I'll be very surprised if this game does not get booked; especially now that the SEC has decided to stay with an 8 game schedule.

The truth is that UGA is a bigger brand name than 'Sippi State and a better game. It is a prime time type game. State just does not have the clout that UGA does. Call it a flame if you want, but it is what it is...
