Sure when you start picking up OOC teams like Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Penn State. But I guess you consider UNC, McNeese, and ULM toughies nowadays.

Really?

You would think that after beating LSU twice and winning a BCS title since ULM, the jokes would stop.

But I guess when that's all you have to hold onto

WVU couldn't even beat Florida State last season.

Teams can't control how good or bad an opponent is when the schedule is made. Going into the season and when the game was scheduled, Clemson was a quality opponent.

You can use your rankings, but I would rather play Clemson in Atlanta on primetime ABC than play West Virginia at home on ESPN or ESPN2.

Of course you would rather play Clemson in Atlanta on primetime. They're a weaker opponent, an easier win, and on national television. It's a win-win situation.

Weaker opponent? Easier win? Are you really going to take that route instead of giving Alabama some credit for scheduling a quality OOC game?

You're setting yourself up to be in a grand position. If LSU beats Carolina, it'll be a great win because NC will be a really tough team. If they lose, the excuse for handing the SEC their first loss in that game will be "we played a tougher opponent."

You stated that Clemson > WVU, I showed you otherwise. Plain and simple That's all I was talking about.

UNC should be really tough this season. They should have a strong defense. If we lose in the first game of the season.. it's probably because they were better than us. But then again, just about every team that's usually in the top-25 is better than Clemson. Bama beat Clemson like a drum.. and that Bama team wasn't even that great (nothing compared to 2009)

Same could have been said this time two years ago about Clemson when talking about our game with them. West Virginia will have to prove they can win big games without Pat White. To me, they didn't look that impressive last season without him (see losing by 12 to a bad FSU team in their bowl game).
