She works in the athletic offices. This is not crazy. It's not all that strange.
What's up with all the obsession over finding new gump stories? Haven't we given you people enough already?

It doesn't surprise me that you don't see anything weird about this.

You think a goofy marriage proposal is weird but your university thinks all its sports fans are a "family"

I posted it. I thought it was a cute story with a tie to SEC football. I couldn't imagine some would find a way to trash these people

There's a Mississippi State alum on here who coincidentally pulls for Alabama in football. I wonder if this was him.

Why are people on here assuming the dude in the story is a Bama fan?

Hiding in Saban's bathroom.

I first broached the subject of marriage with my wife at a Checkers drive thru just to make sure we were on the same page. She didn't say no so here we are 20 years later. I know I am about the least romantic person on the planet.

It involved Bama in any way, shape or form. Of course people on here would find a way to trash it.

I still struggle to understand someone wiping off National Title Ring boxes with the clothes they are wearing.

I mean, if the idea is to remove dust, it is understandable. It's not like she works in a fricking lube bay.

That really is the only thing that bothers me and it has nothing to do with the fact that it's in Saban's office or at Bama.
I'm sure if she knew anyone were watching, she might not have used her dress to polish the crown jewels.
Fortunately, she'll have the rest of her married life to learn proper housekeeping, amirite?

Consider it this way. If she got news of a last minute VIP coming in for a tour and wanted to do a quick once over of the office, she might have figured she didn't have time to go hunt down a dust rag.
I'd take a much dimmer view of it if she actually had been cleaning her own house, where her supplies would be right there at hand.

I proposed to my wife just a few hundred yards from there on the steps of Denny Chimes.
Describe her...we may have something in common, except for that "propose" thing.

You fellas are really missing the integral portion of this story....
did he sit on Saban's shitter?
Did it have a step stool for Saban to place his feet on while sitting there?
Is it made of gold?
SO MANY frickING IMPORTANT QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED!!!!!!1111!!!1

Good point.
I just assumed it was part of her daily office duties to polish the rings.
I'll admit that assumption could be false.

Did he make some special glaze for some of Saban's cream pies?

It has nothing to do with if an Auburn person likes sports or not.
