That was Courage Under Fire, not A Few Good Men.

And I strongly disagree on the North Texas thing. The ONLY thing that resembled North Texas was the color scheme of the uniforms.

genro,

Would you agree that Necessary Roughness portrayed A&M's likeness WAY MORE than any other NCAA program?

Animal House somewhat related to Mizzou:

The movie was set to be filmed at the University of Missouri until the president of the school read the script and refused permission. It was filmed at and around the University of Oregon in Eugene instead.

Way to frick that up, Mizzou.

Dammit. Mizzou missed out on all that exposure that Oregon got from the film....oh wait....

It would have been cool if that movie was shot at Mizzou though.

Ok well I don't know what there is to disagree with. its a fact it was shot on their campus and at their stadium. The story line is more like SMU (I never said North Texas for teh actual story line) than A&M. We never had our program decimated like they did.

and sorry but A Few Good Men DOES open with the Aggie Drill Team.

as for this game, if the school needs to be mentioned, Billy Bob Thornton says he played tight end for Texas A&M in intolerable Cruelty

In the Rundown with the Rock, there is a reference to a QB from Mississippi State that has a gambling problem.

appeal for Prince of Tides... this is better than most you've credited and it mentions in the movie that he played football at USC

also, in the Lords of Disipline,

Will (David Keith) and his roommates come to USC to talk w/ a guy that dropped from The Citadel during his knob year to see what he knew about "The 10". this scene was supposed to be on the USC campus and was filmed at the Capital Cafe in Columbia. in the movie, it clearly shows that "University of South Carolina" sign when they are driving into town.

There are some very solid movies on here. Without reviewing right now, Forrest Gump, Big Fish, and A Time to Kill are classics.

I agree that it was shot at UNT and I also agree that the story line follows SMU's death penalty situation a lot more than A&M, but the University itself and it's relationship with the other big state university mirrors A&M. The way the boosters deal with the players before the coach shuts it down is almost exactly like A&M's NCAA situation.

and for some reason, I only remember Courage Under Fire for the FDT (and other A&M Cadets)

Fish Drill Team in Courage Under Fire

Movies related to SEC schools

The Toy is about pedophelia

Richard Pryor plays a struggling Baton Rouge Journalist who, for the money, agrees to be a rich politican's (Jackie Gleason) son's friend to keep him occupied.
It has moments of Pryor's comedic genius, but ends up being a moving drama at the end as the young boy's lonliness for friendship is tested.
Pryor ends up getting hired as a writer by Gleason at the end.........
