I'll also put a vote in for Shaud Williams. Dude had some heart. Rushed for over 1300 yds in 2003, and had the GOAT interview with Bruno. LINK

Pollack would be my homer pick over Greene but that's because I feel like Pollack was the primary reason our defense was so dominant was his ability to put pressure on the qb almost at will.

If I am being objective out of all the guys that strike me as underrated I would have to say Danny Wuerffel. He was a beast.

(Pollack) isn't underrated for most UGA fans but never seemed to get the pub stars like Clowney gets even though he dominated him statistically.

Hogwash. The entire time Pollack was at school, you couldn't watch an SEC telecast without hearing about him, whether he was playing or not. All anyone wanted to do was talk about how he and Greene played pee-wee ball together, were roommates but were totally different, and OMG his motor never stops.

David Pollack was sufficiently felated by the media while he was in school. You can argue that he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves in hindsight, but to say that he didn't get pub like Clowney is complete bullshite.

Not really.....lol. No one really talked about him at all until his junior year when he racked up accolades even though his previous 2 years were statically better seasons. And he couldn't sniff Clowneys jock in terms of pub. You can not be serious?

I didn't read the whole thread. I am not voting for most underrated all-time. I am going to pick the most underrated alabama player in recent memory.

I am voting Erik Anders. He was a very effective player. He kept Upshaw off the field for two years. He was a really good pass rusher. He also set the edge in the run game very well. He was facing a size disadvantage in almost every game. A really good college player. He wasn't big or fast enough to play in the NFL so he never got a lot of attention. I think people didn't give him enough credit.

Best fair catching punt returner in SEC if not FBS history. Maybe even all of football

Chuck Webb...

In '89, he averaged 5.9 yards per carry. In November '89, he rushed for 294 yards against Ole Miss.

In the 1990 Cotton Bowl, he had 250 yards on 26 carries. Lost early in the 1990 season to a knee injury...never was the same after that.

For Auburn:

Dameyune Craig
He lead that crappy AU team to the SECC and almost beat Peyton. If he had a halfway decent team to go along with him. He wins the Heisman and at least one NC.

Rudi Johnson
The best AU running back I've ever seen in person (Bo was before my time).

I'm not sure you were paying attention while Pollack was in school. Seriously.

Im only going off of collegiate careers in my picks...but LSU player i can think of would be:

Football: Troy Twillie His pick against Auburn in the endzone was the first play to actually "Bring the Magic back" for LSU Football. That was a fith ranked Auburn team by the way.

Baseball: Gotta go with my man Wes Davis. Always was a consistent hitter in his short time here. Also made one of the greates catches against the right field wall in College Wourld Series History

Basketball: Torris Bright...Maybe not underrated, but definately someone who did some really awesome things for LSU while keeping it somewhat under the radar. Honestly, for basketball especially, there are a ton of players that will go forgotten that were damn good in there years here.

So there are my takes

I thought he held Florida back his first couple of seasons...I was always grateful for him because he was so inaccurate. I never thought he was very good, if anything, over-rated...

I don't know if he had a big enough role to be underrated, but I loved watching Roy Upchurch at Bama a few years ago. Dude ran angry.

Injured quite a bit, could have been a stud. One of my favorites was his changing directions vs Va Tech to run over the DB at the goal line.
