And, i've always felt that Nutt/Arky was looking to reproduce the Matt Jones effect when he starting putting McFadden at QB, which i feel like lead to the entire Wildcat fad that swept through all of football. Matt Jones was the original wildcat

He could have been what Tebow was but he didn't have a fraction of Tebows heart. Just didn't give a frick. The team would be in the middle of a crazy comeback and he would look like he was ready for a nap.

Even though David Pollack was heralded in college no one really thinks of him when we think greatest players at a particular school. His time in Athens was beyond dominant. I still think he should have won DPOY his freshman year.

David Pollack at Georgia and Will Overstreet at UT were both very underrated. Unfortunately, both were injured before they could show their stuff in the next level.

From USC, the candidates are McKinley, Rice, and Brinkley.

But if I'm choosing someone from another school, I've got to go with Lutzenkirchen. He was surehanded, dependable, and was the only thing worth a frick on the entire 2011 Auburn team. I hated hearing that guy's name all the time, but it's only cos he was showing out.

Honorable mention for Musa Smith. Before Gurley got to UGA, he was the last really good running back that they had. And no, Moreno didn't count.

Wasn't Pollack a 3 time All-American? How is that underrated?

Wasn't underrated at the time...but his place in SEC history has diminished over the years. How many all-time SEC lists do you see his name on? Was he appreciated at the time? Yes...but I believe that he is little more than a afterthought to many now.

That being said...I should have said they "are underrated" rather than "were underrated". Hence, the confusion.

3 star recruit that went on to the NFL to get injured and never really comes up when discussing the SEC greats when he should. Now award wise it took until his junior year to start getting the recognition he deserved even though he did get All-American selections. He isn't underrated for most UGA fans but never seemed to get the pub stars like Clowney gets even though he dominated him statistically.
