Beating Texas was great because of their record vs Bama, but the win over ND was so much better. After listening to their fans talk all year long about their great defense, Manti Te'o, the magical season, how no one on Alabama had enough talent to beat their defense, it's ND's year, Alabama's dynasty is over, etc..
Beating them in baseball and basketball recently has also been great.

Texas' arse in the '00 Cotton Bowl
I would of thought the game in Austin was a better and more satisfying win. The Cotton Bowl was about evenly matched teams. Arkansas supposedly had no business beating Texas in Austin with Jones and crew.

It's probably consistently more satisfying to win as the underdog. That's why the 92 Sugar Bowl is my alltime favorite - ending the "reign" of Miami as heavy underdogs, and totally dismantling them.
Beating Notre Dame was fun because of our history with Notre Dame, but as a game it was exactly as everyone expected and not the least bit interesting unless you were a Bama fan.

Miami has never been the same since the 40-3 beatdown
Oregon in 2011. The narrative of the speed will kill these SEC teams kinda went away (esp mentioning Oregon in that phrase) after they got shut down.
LSU probably has more OOC history with ND now that Arky an A&M are here. There were a couple games with Holtz that were kinda snippy in the 80's. Anytime LSU beats them is nice.

Beating Oklahoma State in the 2014 Cotton Bowl was almost as satisfying considering how OSU was a dropped INT away from being big12 champions
Don't get me wrong, winning the Cotton Bowl was awesome. But I wish it was against somebody else other than OSU. We've never really had bad blood with them, and their fans aren't awful.
I'd have much rather given the Big 12 the middle finger by beating Texas or OU than beating Oklahoma State. Especially Texas considering what their AD said about us after leaving the Big 12.

Easily 21-0. It was not an SEC game.

Either FSU in 1996 (obvious reasons) or OSU in 06-- less personal but more as a frick you to the entire country for saying we had no business in that game.

Not most but recently destroying Florida last season. A ten win football team in the SEC.

Every one in the big12 wanted OSU to beat us. Remember, OK State is not some pushover like ISU.
Those cowpokes talked a bunch of smack after 2008 too
Beating them is always fun

LSU's annihilation of number 1 Notre Dame in 1971. Prevented the Irish from playing for the national title.

Living in VA, this is the one for me. Especially since I had been to the '02 game.

While any beatdown of Notre Dame, especially back in those days, is impressive, it did not prevent ND from playing for the national title. They'd been beaten earlier in the year and the #1 and #2 teams were undefeated at the end of the regular season...and since there were no bowl game ties 'cept for the PAC-8/Big-10 Rose Bowl, it was easier to pair the two back then...

Shocking. That sounds so unlike them.

I'd have to say any of our wins over Duke. I would say Stanford, but they've been ducking us for more than a century.

OU in 2012 was pretty sweet. We just left the Big 12 and emotions were high. OU just won a share of the Big 12. The Cotton Bowl is a big deal historically in Texas. Johnny set the CB rushing record in a second half blow out of the Sooners who had A&M's number for most of A&M's Big 12 tenure.

Agree with a lot of the previous LSU responses, but 2002 Sugar Bowl was pretty sweet. It was essentially Saban and LSU's intro to the rest of the country. Big 10 fans were going to show us what "speed" truly was, and Saban unleashed Rohan and Domanick Davis.
