Always thought that was interesting considering traditional conference alignments.

I'm actually a Tennessee fan that wouldn't mind getting rid of the Bama game. I'd rather not be exposed to their fans every year and our schedule would still be plenty difficult without them. Their rivalry application should be reviewed again.

Hmmmm ... a slight discrepancy

The problem with using Stassen for all-time records is that they don't count games between current SEC teams before 1902 or so. I believe they do this because those teams were considered 'club-team' level and not major programs.

They have LSU and Tulane first playing in 1904 when the first game LSU ever played was against Tulane in 1893.

I would have thought a military school like a&m would have stopped for the big wars.

Um, no.

During the wars is when enrollment skyrocketed at military schools like LSU and A&M (and the service academies). They were just about the only schools that COULD field teams.

Okay, finally, we have an answer that makes total sense.

Thank you.

Every time one of those dumb rearranging the divisions threads shows up and the dumb person states to separate these three this is what I point out

SEC ain't gonna stop these three from playing every year, one reason that dumb four pod shite wouldn't work

This demonstrates that Auburn would have been a much more natural fit in the East with their permanent opponent being Bama

This is what Auburn fans have been saying for a while now.

Auburn is the closest SEC school in proximity to Florida. They are/were our oldest rival before the conference (Bama) fricked it up. There have been some epic games.

Just kidding about the Bama part.

During the 20's or something there was some minor squabble over details of how the games would be played and so both schools decided to be pissy and not play anymore. Didn't start playing again till the 50's
