Unfortunately, it's still not quite good enough to be a starter in our secondary.

Well aware.
And he contributed a good deal more than that, too.

My guess is that his thorough knowledge/understanding of the defensive playbook bought him more playing time

Yeah that was impressive, but he couldnt do that now. he's about 350+ and looks like Mark Henry(wwe)

They beefed him up for NG, then they change schemes, then change back to a hybrid this year. He should be put to good use in the new system, as Pettine(the DC) comes from Rex Ryan's defense. He flashes greatness, it just hasn't been able to mesh completely together for him.

Crazy to think Buffalo essentially drafted a NG 3rd overall...

I can't count how many times people had to come in and clean up his "hits."

He did well on the Rivals stat sheet. He was nowhere near the complete, physical backs we've become accustomed to.

Count the times he laid a player on his arse. I don't know what you have against my boy, but Sunseri's sorry arse couldn't sniff Dre if Dre was wreaking

I think some things are overblown regarding Sunseri, he's not as bad as he has been made out to be. I debunked his "bad" game against LSU in '12 on the Bama board a month or so ago. A lot of it was the strain put on the defense because of a lack of CB depth.

Bama had plenty of safeties, but not enough capable CBs to fill spots. So when you start using a safety(specifically one that could be considered a strong safety) where you'd use a CB, things go wrong. At one point in the LSU game, they called for more safeties on a play than CBs.

I think if you match HCD and Sunseri as safeties, they play well off each other. Lester-Sunseri was too much of the same note, but man those double blitzes were fun to watch.

He's not gonna be someone you're gonna remember 10 years from now, but that's not necessarily a bad thing either. I still remember Marcus Carter for all the wrong reasons

Preachin to choir, my friend.

I like Sunseri. Great guy by all accounts, hard worker, big hitter, plays over his head.

He was an outside LB in high school. He just doesn't have the legs to run with SEC receivers.

Thorpe at least gets paid by an NFL team...and for his likeness on all those knockoff Daniel Moore prints they sell in the state Alabama.

B.S. Sunseri is just awful. He is a linebacker trapped in a safeties body. Oh and Marcus Carter was the worst thing to happen to a secondary since Ramsey Robinson.

Reminds me of how CJ Mosley is basically an oversized Safety.

You don't pay attention, Moore had a disappointing Pro day but coming off his season lots of people had him as a top 5 player, you sir are a retard.

Moore basically disappeared after MSU.

He did little against Bama, nothing against SHSU and Mizzou, and got owned in the Cotton Bowl.

He's got some talent but no will. He was overrated at the end of the season, and someone I never considered a 1st round pick, even before the combine.
