I'm confused on where you're going with this? Are you just stating random facts or are you pointing out that your defense lacks stamina or tends to fold late in the game?

Not horrible considering Auburn, Bama, and A&M all scored an average of over 38 ppg in conference play and South Carolina was no slouch either, but still a lot of room for improvement.

Missisppi State couldn't stop LSU or Texas A&M. Alabama was able to stop the former; LSU was able to stop the latter.

MSU gave up 59 to LSU in Starkville last season. So with your "improved" defense and LSU's young offense the Tigers might only manage 45 in Tiger Stadium.

MSU certainly isn't scoring 26 this year.

I'm gonna say Arky. They should be decently stout against the run. And with Bama, LSU and aTm all replacing QBs the secondary shouldn't be exposed as badly as they could.

(I mean, that secondary isn't really as bad as everyone is claiming, is it? Is it?)

That and they gave up 31 points in the first three quarters. Not something to brag about. But I am one that thinks Miss. St. will be better.

You did lose you top producers. Met, Hill, Beckham, Blue, Landry.... Hell.. you even lost the none producers like Copeland, Boone.. 205 passes caught, 170 of those belong to guys no longer at LSU. But hey.. you still got ole T Dick. He caught 5 passes. 44% Jennings... He's back. You do have a great point!

Yes, you shouldn't have a problem with us- for the first time this century.

110 combined points against aTm and LSU... Good thing you laid the wood to Alcorn State and Jackson State... Definitely helped out the defensive numbers.

Luckily we play Ole Miss at the end of the year. They rarely score an offensive touchdown against us. If not for our weak non conference schedule and having to play Ole Miss every year our defensive stats would really suck.We better watch out bc Bo Wallace returns and he completed 26 passes against our stingy defense last yr.

For 183 yds.

I'm gonna go with Arkansas. They were #76 in total D and allowed over 6 YPP last year.

I would say we won't. I don't think of LSU as an empty house. However, we do get to see what you got in game 1, and then we get you 1st in the SEC.

I like what I'm hearing out of camp regarding the A&M defense. Still not there yet, but much more depth and guys will play who were actually recruited by this coaching staff. And we can't get any worse.

Ole Miss and it's not close.

We return nine starters on a defense which allowed 23.7 PPG in 2013. We have the best safety duo in the SEC and, arguably, the nation. We also have one of the deepest and most talented DLs in the SEC.

Mark it down, bookmark it all you want. The 2014 Ole Miss defense will be pretty damn filthy.

why do people say this?

they could easily stay the same much like Arky or they could get worse. Hell according to that logic UTn shouldve been back on top 15 years ago
