Using my made up and rudimentary formula below I came up with the most explosive defensive players in the SEC (by position group). The only stats used are those verse other Power 5 teams. Obviously this doesn't mean "best" (especially at LB and the secondary) just the guys who made the most "big plays" in 2016 quantified.
Most Defensive Explosive Plays in 2015 Returning (INT + TFL + DEF TD + SACK + FORCED FUMBLE/TOTAL GAMES V P5 = Explosion #)
SEC Defensive Linemen
1. Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) - 2.95
2. Marquis Haynes (Ole Miss) - 2.28
3. Jonathan Allen (Alabama) - 2.21
4. DaShaun Hall (Texas A&M) - 2.15
5. D. Wise (Arkansas) - 2.10
6. Derek Barnett (Tennessee) - 2.00
7. Jonathan Bullard (Florida) - 1.82
8. Charles Harris (Missouri) - 1.81
9. Tim Williams (Alabama) - 1.75
10. Lewis Neal (LSU) - 1.44
10. Devin Godchaux (LSU) - 1.44
SEC Linebackers
1. Richie Brown (Miss St) - 2.17
2. Zach Cunningham (Vandy) - 2.06
3. J. Reeves-Maybin (Tennessee) - 1.90
4. Skai Moore (South Carolina) - 1.55
SEC Defensive Backs
1. D. Wilson (A&M) - 1.75
2. D. Sanders (UGA) - 1.20
3. Eddie Jackson (Alabama) - 0.92

Don Wilson is a playmaker. Probably my favorite player on our current team

Harold Brantley is easily #1 for the DL.

He is so much fun to watch! I wonder if he will be able to make the transition to the NFL because of his size?

Most underrated player in the SEC who has consistently put up stats over the past 3 seasons.

Does he play MLB or OLB?

I know you said all that non sense in the OP but Tim Williams had 2 less sacks than Myles Garrett and was a backup hybrid defensive lineman/linebacker.
All these recent threads I've noticed about hype for players in 2016 have A&M players near the top and a severe lack of Bama and LSU players. Y'all are retarded.

I feel like Carl Lawson should be on the list, but understand missing most of the season would exclude him.

Garrett had 14.5 TFL, Williams had 11. Garrett forced 5 fumbles, Williams forced 0. Garrett had 1 INT, Williams had 0.
So, that's why. Obviously Williams only played in packages, so he wasn't on the field as much. If you did an explosive per play metric Tim would be near if not at the top.

Yea, it's 100% 2015 stat based, so that makes it tough on Carl haha.

Was this solely against LSU?

Why are you only dividing forced fumbles by total games? That bama math strikes again?
In all seriousness, I would also add pass break-ups to the list. One of JJ Watt's (I know not in the SEC but an example most would get) biggest strengths is his ability to block passes.

Good point.
What is interesting is F+ basically has a much more refined version of this per team called "Havoc Rate".
